Was Tyson really punching holes in the walls of his dressing room while waiting for Spinks to make his entrance (as Butch Lewis claims)?

Ali being saved by a torn glove that made the break between rounds over 2 minutes against Cooper. Utter hogwash. It was the normal minute in length.

Douglas being 42/1 against Tyson. Tyson was 1/42, which is entirely different. As anyone in the thrall of the evil bookmaker will know.

Ali's supposed 'No Vietcong ever called me person' quote.

Good one, its just lazy, lazy reporting isn't it.

There is no way that story Brendan Ingle used to tell about being on the top deck of a bus seeing a 6 year old Naz fight off a gang of bullies is true. Great copy though and the papers all lapped it up

Tony Tucker blow job story? please tell :D
The way I heard it at the time, prior to Tucker's fight with Herbie Hide someone saw his trainer noshing his off in the dressing room..

No wonder he offered such feable resistance :o

In all seriousness, I can't see how it could possibly be true though, for so many reasons..

The version I heard was that it was in a hotel room, and the person who saw it happening was Don King. Tucker was allegedly holding a teddy bear (fornicate knows where it came from) and sucking his thumb. I very much doubt that it's true, but the you get to thinking about where it originated...

Chavez being unbeaten when he'd actually lost a fight

Who was the HW that was alleged to have been caught with a teddy sucking his thumb against Lewis or Tyson, was it Seldon or Tubbs?

Kirkland Laing living on a park bench after he beat Duran and Duff couldn't find him.

Tommy Farr getting robbed blind vs Louis. It was actually so well believed in Wales, when the footage of the fight became more available people would say "oh that was their 2ND fight... the one that didn't get much hype"!!!!! Then they would recall a completely mythical second fight which Tommy went the distance but got his ears boxed off.

A world class boxer, not sure who, I think Dempsey, who apparently knew it was time to retire after he won via an amazing KO. Cause he said - I saw the opening and boom I hit it.... a few years ago I wouldn't have even seen the opening.

That Sonny Liston took a dive against Ali in the second one. He actually got up and the fight was continuing when it was halted.

Audley Harrison will never win a world title - he already has! :TU:

Antonio Tarver was poisoned before he fought Hopkins....

What about the myth that Tyson should have beaten Douglas because Douglas was down for more than 10 seconds? I always thought the rule was a referee's count of 10, not 10 seconds?

Joe Louis wasn't 137 years old when he fought Marciano.

I think the Roy Jones story is that he won a round without taking a punch (Vs Vinny Paz)

When you've just been knocked on your arse and can't see straight 70 seconds IS a long time. It definetly bought Ali enough extra time to ensure his head was clear.

The idea that boxing is fixed, like wrestling. It is funny how many people after a fight ends will go "Well, they staged that ending..."
