Harris interview : i dont think the fight will happen

Post by REAL_DEAL »

Part 1 of a 2 part interview with Vicious Viv up at boxing insider.

Boxinginsider.com: Is you and Ricky Hatton official for October 2nd on Showtime in Manchester, England?

Vicious Vivian Harris: "Honestly, I don't know. A lot of things were supposed to happen. Right now, Vivian Harris is ready to fight anybody in the junior welterweight division. I have no problems coming to England to fight him."

Boxinginsider.com: You sound a little suspicious of allegedly's motives...

Vicious Vivian Harris: "allegedly don't really want to make a fight with me and Ricky Hatton because he knows I'm going to beat Ricky Hatton. He do not want to make that fight. That's his money fighter. And if I beat Ricky Hatton, what happens to him? What happens to his investment?"

Boxinginsider.com: So you suspect allegedly might be pretending to make this fight?

Vicious Vivian Harris: "Yeah, he's pretending to act like it. I honestly don't think the fight is going to happen - but Vivian Harris wants to fight Ricky Hatton. Like I said, I only want to fight the best in the world. Or fight who thinks they're the best in the world. Because I think I'm the best junior welterweight in the world. And I always want to fight who thinks they is the best."

Boxinginsider.com: How is Hatton as a fighter in your eyes?

Vicious Vivian Harris: "Hatton is a great fighter. I love his style. Because his style is right there. Those are the kinds of fighters I love - the fighters that think their talent is more than me. I like that."

Boxinginsider.com: Some experts think his strength of body punching matches up well against your supposed vulnerability to body attacks. Your comment?

Vicious Vivian Harris: "Well, the only way they could notice that is if they encourage him and allegedly to make the fight happen. Because if they think that and allegedly thinks that and Ricky Hatton himself thinks that, he could make that happen. I guarantee...I'LL SHOW THE WORLD that Ricky Hatton can't take a body shot. All that body shots that he gives to people, he cannot take a body shot. What I'll do to his body, he can't take it. I'LL GUARANTEE THAT. I COULD PUT ANYTHING ON THAT."

Boxinginsider.com: Would Ricky Hatton be the toughest fight of your career?

Vicious Vivian Harris:"Honestly, I can't make that call yet. Because I haven't fought Ricky Hatton yet. I'm not gonna say he won't be my toughest fight or he will be my toughest fight...I never fight Ricky Hatton before, I can't say that. That would be a stupid answer if I gave you an answer."

Boxinginsider.com: Would you go into the fight as if it were your toughest fight?

Vicious Vivian Harris:"Definitely. I respect all of my opponents. And I will go into the fight expecting a tough fight. That's what gives me the strength and the energy to train hard or harder for every one of my fights."

not going if that happens.
voting with my feet. For the recrod Sky should pull their fornicating thumbs out of their asses and make sure there is a date in the scheduling. I mean it cant be that hard can it? Boxing is usually on sat night so whats the issue, cant believe theres a bigger fight that this to be shown.

unbelievable.

Dates and venues don't seem to be a problem when he's fighting over the hill lightweights sounds liike another farce to me .

Rick'y moaning he ain't been told or has not discussed money. Harris is all but saying they don't want it, don't look good does it.

N'Dou will face Andreas Kotelnik (universum fighter) in Australia in august but if he wins he should be ready for an october fight

Hatton v N'Dou would be fine with me. It's still a considerable step up.

A step up but a small one and a fight where Hatton would be a big favorite.
After all this talk, demanding this and that, no opponent lower than Harris in the rankings would do for me.

It would take a fair amout of gall to start shouting out Champs and produce another contender though - how many times can you use the same excuse?

Or am I under-estimating the front/cheek of a certain promoter?

N'Dou is heaps better than Tackie or Phillips. I wouldn't make Hatton a big favourite in that fight at all. Probably because I'd be expecting him to lose.

Is he? Based on what exactly? He's pretty one dimensional, and in fact is very similar to tackie.
