sosnowski won the first 4 round and maybe 5 but Pianeta came back into a bit but going into the 12th i have the Pole one up but have a feeling they will give to Pianeta who has been poor and deserves a draw at most. Stick Skelton or Rogan in with Pianeta and he will get beat.

i came in just before the Albert Sosnowski - Francesco Pianeta fight and its a cracker and i have it level after 8 and Albert has been doing well. Looking forward to seeing Povekin but believe he is coming in quite heavy. Anyone watching?

Estrada is coming in heavy as well.

Povetkin looks rusty. Perhaps unfit or nowt clicking. Whatever ways he's not that impressive on this showing.

As an aside he reminds me of a HW version of Sibson - but on Sibbo's way down up to this point.

Povetkin has looked awful in his last two fights, which is all I've seen of him. Doesn't give me a good impression.

There was nothing wrong about Povetkin when he beat Donald, Byrd and Chambers (though he was sick with the flu that night and looked a bit off). And he looked sharp vs the fat unmotiated Sykes.

But I have to say I am ashamed to have been a Povetkin fan after last night. Povetkin came at his heaviest ever. He showed class in spurts but he had tits, and looked tired. Ruined my whole evening.

Sauerland should be embarrassed the way their 2 top fighters - Abraham and Povetkin - came in such poor shape in their last fights. WTF are they playing at?

I won't write off Povetkin. When he's a bit leaner he has stamina, strength, can sneak in those short shots and is the only fighter who can close the distance fast enough. He's the only fighter with enough all round to have a decent chance against the Klitschkos (IMO).

If they're pasing up the Wlad fight, which they obviously have, then they need to keep him busy and taking on different styles and sizes. To his credit he's taken another unbeaten record. But for a guy who could be the next major champ, to look like this is laughable.

I hope he fights again soon and looks better than this. This just is not good enough.

yeah I just think that the promoter should make sure both are fighting at their proper weight.

I like Povetkin alot. I don't think he's a pretty fighter, but there is no other heavyweight out there with his variety, who can pick shots like he does. Even off form, v an ugly opponent Estrada, he got better as the fight went on, til rd 10 when he was hurting him with every shot.

Hopefully that workout has got him in shape. He needs to lose a good 5-7 pounds. I don't think Povetkin would be happy with that showing.

It seems that whenever Povetkin fights anyone decent, it's against some weird defensive counter puncher. I think he needs to fight someone big or powerful. He's basically the reason Haye has got his shot, because they aren't pushing the mandatory (IBF). So hopefully Povetkin gets a purposeful fight in the meantime.

good post i couldnt agree more although i feel Abrahams poor performence was more being tight at the weight not conditioning, he needs to forget Pavlik and move up.

Me too. Arbaham has to lose 6kgs to make the weight which is apparently proving hell now. I agree with Barn's post. Povetkin is also a HW that's in a minority; he can throw combinations.

It does get a bit depressing when even Alexander Povetkin is coming into fights out of shape. The only heavyweight with sustained combos, and ability to use feints, and good fitness.

I suppose, at least he seemed to find some form as the fight went on. The fog seemed to lift, a bit.
