Michael Katsidis vs Jesus Chavez.

Post by Hounddawg »

This weekend Michael Katsidis will look to get back in to form against Chavez, I've got Katsidis winning in the 7th by KO.

What are peoples thoughts?

It will be a war. Katsidis will get cut, there will be knockdowns and someone will get stopped.

I can see Katsidis getting busted up again but having too much strength and vitality for a somehwat past-it Chavez. It should be a good scrap, though, and good US exposure for the exciting Katsidis. Assuming he wins, this is a great bit of matchmaking for him.

i agree with everyone so far and think it will be a very exciting fight, could possibly be one of the best of the year and also that katsidis youth will prevail and he will prove to be the stronger and hungrier down the stretch

i predict katsidis ko9

Judges love Katsidis, they had him wining comfortably on all cards by margins of 4 points+, i didn't agree.

I Thought it was a pretty slow start from the Great, but he was too strong from round 4 onwards.

Whats next for Katsidis? I honestly hope they match him with one of the other winners on the card, because i think Marquez will murder him at this stage of his career.

chavez didn't look like a fighter who had prepared to go the distance at lightweight. He looked a blown up fighter.

Who next for Kat? all the big names are looking to fight each other, and he is risky. I'd like to see him vs Valero.

Chavez is a former IBF World Lightweight champion, a title won in tragic circumstances but won fairly. Do not run him down.

Correct, but he's past his best now, has a problem with one of his legs and the Johnson tragedy may have robbed him of some of his zeal.

Not deliberately criticising Katsidis here, just putting it into a perspective. Still a valuable win and exposure and a nice name on the record.

Marquez has beaten the only two men to beat Katsidis. If Michael can beat him it would wipe that from his psyche. I see no point on him going back over old ground.

I don't think Katsidis can beat him yet, Marquez' resume is legendary, Katsidis has just recorded his first win over a former champ.

Personally i think it wouldn't even be close, a one sided fight.

I really am a fan of Katsidis, so I'm not trying to knock his potential, i just think he should have another 3 fights this year similar to the Chavez fight.

David Diaz or Barrera would be good fights.
