Which one of the brits will win...

Post by EddieShredder »

If you had to bet money on just one of the 3 brits winning their upcoming title fight - who would you go for??

All great fights, all fights that can be won... but equally all fights I wouldn't be surprised if our lads lost...

I honestly haven't a clue who I'd back out of the 3... but if pushed, I might lean towards Froch as the most likely to win.... Hmmm... :-?

1 Froch - Taylor was rocked by Lacy 3 times in their fight, and should've had two knockdowns, so he can be rocked by Carl.
2 Haye - Wlad's safety first Steward style will be hard to catch behind his jab, but if there's one fighter that can KO him by catching him cold, it's David
3 Hatton - Pacman is too fast. Like those ninjas in the Mini advert.

Totally agree with this order of likelihood. Would be very disappointed if Froch lost, though I do think he'll have to box at a good pace.

Wlad is very big and strong but David is much quicker...

I honestly believe Carl Froch wins and looks good in doing so.

The more I think about the the other 2 fights the more I believe there is no chance they are going the distance.

Haye/Wlad will not go beyond the 3rd round.

Pacman/Hatton will not go beyond the 6th round.

As to the winners of the last 2 fights - I am actually going to sit on the fence for a change although it might be worth putting some money on Haye in the first round or 2.

1st Froch has a great chance to beat a big name and start getting big fights
2nd Hatton will need to fight perfectly to beat Pac i think Pac will be to fast for Hatton but 1 of his body punches could easily change that
3rd Haye will really struggle with the size of Wlad and wont get inside because Wlad will just hold and push cant see him winning

1) Froch -i think he does a kelly Pavlick and kncoks out Taylor in some style
2) I think Haye will land first and take Wlad out early doors
3) Hatton -will stop Manny P -will, smother him and and slow him down before taking him out.If an old eric morales and a lighter Jaun Manel Marquez can hit and hurt him, Ricky definitely can.As annoyed as I have been that he's not boxed Junior, I think people forget that Hatton is genuingley world class.

1. Hatton-I really think he'll do it. I just think he's far too big and powerful for a man who hasn't had a really competitive fight above super featherweight
2. Froch- I favour him to beat Taylor, but not by much.
3. Haye- I doubt very much he'll win, I think he'll be KOd early (3/4 rds)

1) Haye - has the speed and the power to clean KO the weak chinned Klitchsko

2) Froch - Taylor is the athlete, possesses most of the advantages in terms of speed and skill, but Froch is a massive Super Middle with a ticker and a chin.

3) Hatton - Could give Pacquiao some fits if the body shots work.

I would favour the non british fighter in all 3 fights, I see them all as 60:40 fights roughly though.

1) Haye - Gets stopped in the middle rounds
2) Froch - Loses a clear decision
3) Hatton - His size may tell but at the moment I'm thinking Pacman by late stoppage

0-3 for me I'm afraid

All 3 win.

Froch by a SD
Hatton mid/late KO
Haye inside 3 rounds (but then gets brutally KO'd by Vitali in a similar distance)

Hatton clearly has the least chance, I think he has less chance than the odds give him. In fact, a Pac KO bet could be the ticket.

Then it's close between Froch and Haye fights. I think there's more chance that Froch will be soundly outboxed by Taylor than Wlad landing before Haye, although both are pretty likely. I see whoever landing first in the heavyweight fight as winning it, and I would say Haye has the edge around 55/45 re this likelihood because he's quicker and deadly accurate whereas I think while having the height and reach Wlad has slowed and got more cautious of late.

However I think there is around a 65% chance Taylor will just outbox Froch over 12. If Froch had the output I would be confident in him doing a Pavlik, but with his loading up and lack of defence I don't think he brings the same game Kelly did, which was controlled but relentless aggression with a high guard

SO

Best chance to worst chance

1. Haye
2. Froch
3. Hatton

Only Hatton. Pacquaio is going to find him too big and will be matched for agression. Marquez can keep Pac at bay and get robbed for it but Hatton will just steam roll him being the bigger man. Plus the last guy Pac fought who was fresh he got a gift decision over.

Froch can't box for shit and Taylor's going to jab his head off to a points win. Froch can be tagged at will, he just has a good chin and is like Margarito with a Roy Jones guard.

Haye's defence is terrible and relies on fast bursts and big punches. His stamina might be still suspect too and bends too low with the left hand low as he throws that big right. His inside game is weak too and Wlad spoils and holds alot there. Plus theres a chin.

Was he really knocked down twice (Taylor)? I saw the highlights on youtube and saw the one knockdown which was ruled a slip which I think was in the third or 4th round.

I have all 3 winning.

Froch will win by decision.
Haye will KO Wlad.
Hatton will tear apart Pacquiao with his power and body shots and will stop him or make him retire.

1) Hatton, hands down, 80/20
2)Taylor 60/40
3) Wlad 70/30, Haye can win by a lucky punch or a volley that gets by accidentally.

I really fancy Hatton to stop Pacman, that is going to be the one I put most moolah on.
Then I have Froch at 50/50. I think his win over Pascal will look brilliant in 2-3 years time. The Canadian will be a World Champion within 12 months.
I favour Wlad by 70/30 against Haye.

Would be great to see them all win obviously.

1. Froch- surprisingly easy and early
2. Hatton- Not as easy but not 50-50 fight either
3. Haye- two hopes. Bob Hope and no hope
