JO/Men Sr Southwestern Champs

:box: :bow: :shame: Southwestern Association sends boxers to the State Junior Olympics

Premier Boxing Club hosted the Regional Junior Olympics/Mens SR Championships April 3-5, 2009 in Fort Worth, TX. Southwestern Association's Intermediate Division resulted in a total of 11 boxers (10 males and 1 female) advancing to the State JOs and the JO Senior Division will send 12 boxers (11 males and 2 females) hosted in Los Fresnos, TX May 1-3, 2009.

Representing the Intermediate Division champions are:

Although all the bouts were exciting, the most exciting fight was Oscar Mojica vs Ernesto Delgadillo. Mojica was knocked down in the first round but then came back to win the next two rounds.

The OPEN DIVISION team trophy was awarded to Vivero's Boxing Club. OUTSTANDING OPEN DIVISION BOXER was awarded to Errol Spence(Vivero's Boxing Club). The NOVICE DIVISION OUTSTANDING BOXER was awarded to Jaime Santos (Premier Boxing Club). The NOVICE TEAM TROPHY was awarded to Aguila Azteca Boxing Club, Dallas, TX. :TU:
