Yes. Make sure they don't pee in your shower.
:-?

Is the closest airport to Schalke's ground Dusseldorf-Weeze????

Anyone know the answer to this?

It's 45KM from Dusseldorf International airport. There is also Wesse airport, which is 87KM. Dortmund airport is 50km away.

On the ryanair website the destination is "Dusseldorf-Weeze", will this be the Wesse airport?

Go into iTunes and type learn german. It's in the app window so select See All.

Just seen a flight and hotel deal for 3 nights, returning on Sunday, for about 190 quid - that's not too bad, that's near the centre of Dusseldorf.

German trains tend to run pretty late, certainly they did in Berlin and Munich - so should be able to get back to Dusseldorf ok I reckon after the fight.

If there is a few of you it will be cheap enough in a cab

Yeah, but German trains, cliche as it is, are very efficient and cheap, why bother getting a cab? There aren't going to be enough cab drivers to cater for 65,000 people leaving the stadium, it's not a big enough city.

Train will probably take about 45 minutes or so, that's fine.

Think I will arrive on the friday evening in Dusseldorf, and fly out on Sunday. Probably go on the lash on Friday night in Dusseldorf - spot of lunch, few drinkipoos in the big D, and then off to see the fight.

Well Dusseldorf is twice the size and has a famous mile full of bars, sounds like a better bet to me mate.

Dusseldorf has got to be the go for Friday night. Great bars and surely much better nightlife. Just re-book the hotel for an extra night in the Dorf on the Friday. I`ve just got to find a place near the stadium for Saturday night now, I can`t find anything.

Looking forward to this one big time.

I`m with you on that one. Thursday and Friday night heavy lash, steady away on the Saturday.

Just booked a room near the stadium on the saturday, so I`m sorted now apart from the fight tickets.

As I posted on another thread, I was at the Schalke ground when Portugal knocked England out of the last World Cup. When the roof is closed, it feels like a great gladitorial place, and charmingly intense.
With the right punters, it could be a great fight arena - an indoor 65,000 crowd would be somthing to behold.

The general consensus of a Friday in Ddorf and then fight night in GKC is probably right. I was in Ddork a few times last summer on business - its an utter shithole apart from the bit on the river that the Allies didn't bomb. That none-shithole is a charming Altstadt with baroque structures and Germanic two floor buildings.

Anyway, I sound like Judith Chalmers, so I will f___ off, but happy to met up with any of the boys in der Vaterland.I can also speak German in case the boys need saving from a jail cell...

Yep, will let you know when I am booked. We thenneed to find a dodgy kebab shop staffed by fierce Albanians, for our spinach, and a decent restaurant with a nice hukka pipe.
Emerson should be in charge of logistics... he has an iPod that talks German :TU:

Well the iPod app seems pretty useful; "Ich Bin allergisch auf Bienenstiche. Konnen Sie einen einsamen Strand ampfehlen" - "I am allergic to bee stings. Can you recommend a secluded beach"

I think that one will come in handy for all of us.

We need to keep Shaggy away from drinking. Emmanuel Steward will be there and Polish workers. We really don't need a copy of Dublin incident. Now Wales has to come.

It's about 40 miles away, good train links from the city and the airport
