Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
Khan is going for a world title at hattons prodominent weight, people say Khan is doing this to dodge, and so what if he is dodging a couple of people or not. The fact is he is still going for a world title, and if he gets it, it will do alot more for his career then just taking fights so he doesnt look like he is 'dodging'. Boxing is a game where you have to be clever, not just at throwing puntches but choosing the right fights at the right time..
Khan vs Hatton would be damn amazing if Khan grabs the title, I do feel however that hattons power would destroy khan. Plus as hatton is fighting 'light' at light-welterweight and has shown he has the power to duke at a couple of weights above. Can't see it ever realistically happening though.. Can you?

If Hatton loses to Pac and Khan beats Kotelnek than i think it could happen as no other major fight left for Hatton
Can just see it now, 60,000 people watching Hatton vs Khan at the city of manchester stadium!

No way will JMM be interested if Hatton loses, he'll be more interested in fighting Paci think hatton has quite a few options even if he does lose, he could still fight jmm, bradley, campbell, valero
Bradley will probably be fighting winner of Khan/Kotelnek to unify 3 belts
Valero hasnt officially moved to Light welter yet but Campbell would be possible!

Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
It would be an absolutely massive fight in the UK. Could defo see this in the City of Manchester Stadium, total sellout would generate tons of tv money. As FLoyd Mayweather once said, if it makes money it makes sense. IF Khan wins the belt AND Hatton loses then this is a very viable fight imho.
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
Khan/Kotelnik winner should fight a Witter/McCloskey winner.
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
hatton only has like few fights left in him so he going to want hugh pay as well best P4P. so JMM would be ideal for hatton if he wins or looses against pacman.

yeah i think witter Vs khan would be a good one to watch.
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
Isn't this Khan vs Kotelnik (if it happens) the last fight for Khan under his current contract.... it will be very interesting how it pans out. If Khan does become a free agent - then I can imagine Khan vs Hatton happening, if Khan beats Kotelnik, as there is not much for either fighter after. Hatton will think twice before moving up to 147, and Khan will not want to fight the likes of Witter and will definately not fight his training partner.
If Khan is not a free agent, then I expect to see some fringe contenders facing Khan at first. I wonder if this title fight has been delivered (if it is true) as a carrot for a contract extension... as Tszyu was! (oops).
Off course they are good friends also (Hatton and Khan) but at the end of the day, Hatton is a businessmen aswell as boxer. I am sure they will put their friendship aside for 36 mins (potentially).

yeah khans contract i think runs out in June/july. ?it will be intresting .if his mangemnt take over promo side of things ditch warren .i can see disaster written all over it.
Hatton is a businessman . he only has few fights left in him so he would rather fight JMM in vegas then MEN to fight kahn. as ticket sales in the states genrate more $$$. or rematch with mayweather.

Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
oh my god, imagine a witter bomb landing on khan, he'd damage the kid.
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
I would say that Hatton would have to go down hill a bit before they'd put him in with Khan. Right now, he has the footspeed and handspeed to get him in positions that he's just be able to literally -- and I do mean literally -- walk through Khan. The closest sporting analogy I can think of is Jonah Lomu and Mike Catt.
HOWEVER, as soon as that footspeed starts to go, Khan could possibly dance rings around him.
Hatton, by then, would have probably called it a day.

Haye V Harrison is more likely. Hatton would never have a reason to take this fight, even if he loses next fight he is still have big enough draw for big $$$ fights. If he was skint that would be a different matter cos two north-west lads beating crap out of each other at City of Manchester on Sky Boxoffice could be a laugh.

Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
team khan wouldn't let amir in with ricky hatton unless ricky was visibly past it
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
Bradley would almost certainly choose Hatton over Khan or Kotelnik.exittored wrote:Bradley will probably be fighting winner of Khan/Kotelnek to unify 3 belts
I also can't see Khan facing Bradley as a first defence.

I cant see this ever happening Hatton is to powerful Warren wouldnt let it happen
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
If Kahn beats Kotelnik, don't be surprised if his first defence is Gavin Rees!
Can't see them putting Kahn in with Hatton, that would be disaster for team Kahn.

Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
Too much money for it not to happen
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
|Disagree, dont see Khan hatton appealing to the US market, and Hatton has plenty of places to go without khan and make more money.
Lets not forget, Khan is still the boy who was KO'd by Bredis "who?" Prescott, cant see US fans, or worldwide fans, clamouring for it like they would cotto or even jmm.
DLH Hatton?

I thought that, but Gavin Rees has now been released by FW/SN and joined Calzaghe Promotions. So I see Mbaye as the first defence option.youngrell wrote:If Kahn beats Kotelnik, don't be surprised if his first defence is Gavin Rees!

Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
I think it could still eventually happen - Khan might be the boy who was KO'D by Prescott, but he is heard of in America - Larry Merchant has mentioned him a few times as one of the best prospects in world boxing and a "shoe in" for a world title. This was before the chin was exposed by Limond. Gets a few more MAB style wins under his belt, and he can challenge Hatton.Wales wrote:|Disagree, dont see Khan hatton appealing to the US market, and Hatton has plenty of places to go without khan and make more money.

However, it will never happen in a month of sundays is Khan remains with Warren - unless Hatton begs "forgiveness".
Re: Khan vs Hatton - Will it ever happen?
I don't see Khan fighting Mbaye, as I believe they are fairl good mates. Didn't souley train at Olivers gym for a while whilst he was signed with Warren.
i wouldn't be surprised if Lauri or Branco surface as a first defence, or maybe even Dmitry Salita, or is he too dangerous?
At least by Khan moving up he won't be facing blown up superfeathers any more. They will be blown up lightweights instead.

Marquez, Valero and Pacquiao will be classed as Super Feathers if Khan signed to face any of these.dbf wrote:I don't see Khan fighting Mbaye, as I believe they are fairl good mates. Didn't souley train at Olivers gym for a while whilst he was signed with Warren.

I take your point. Its also forgotten that Khan is only 22.stujones wrote:Marquez, Valero and Pacquiao will be classed as Super Feathers if Khan signed to face any of these.dbf wrote:I don't see Khan fighting Mbaye, as I believe they are fairl good mates.
