Hey guys,
This card...3 of the fights at least...aired on the new CV Network on 3/28/09. The middle fight was Omar Lina vs Edgar Jimenez (announced as Edgar...on boxrec as Andres). The decision was annouced as a split decision in favor of Lina. Boxrec has it as a draw. Did they change it after the fact??
(Scores were...
58-55, 56-57, 56-57 in favor of Lina) At least that was the announcement.
Omar Lina vs Edgar (Andres) Jimenez
Re: Omar Lina vs Edgar (Andres) Jimenez
The morning after Fight, Alfredo Jaime Gómez wrote in Esto;

Did they mention the names of the officials? (Judges/referees)In the best battle of the evening, Omar Lina gave a big surprise to
draw in 6 with the favorite Andrés "Power" Jimenez in flyweight.
They initially gave the win by split decision to Lina, but at the end of
the function the Boxing Commission corrected the cards and the result
was tabulated as a draw. The battle was very closed and the verdict could
have gone either way, and "Power" knocked Omar down in the 1st round.

Ah, ok. So they did change the result after the announcement. That answers my question.
If I can figure out youtube, I'll up the video of the announcement. :)

I could probably just figure out the judges names but figured I'd leave it to you guys to hear for yourselves. (added the graphic with the ref too).

Hey, are you from Mexico?
Well actually I train with Omar, here in Apizaco, Tlaxcala, I can remeber that Gilberto Flores, our trainer told us that, at the end of the whole event when everybody was leaving, the Chairman of the boxing comission or someting went jealling that omar did not won the fight, el Tigre argued for a little while, but in the end they made the correction of the official card with the personal pro record of Omar, so it was a draw. Omar told me that that was a really hard fight, the other guy has a lot of punching power.
Well thats what I can remeber, today El tigre was telling me about the last fight also in Polanco that Omar won in a very nice way, well this guy is extremenly strong, me and my bleeding nose can tell that!
Well I dont know if you are from arround here, but Omar is creating a very nice career and the best is yet to come, because i can see that he is getting better and better, well actually eveybody in the gym, including me... See you men, take care...
