Ellis is not very good.

He came for the money, in fact he is pathetic.

That was not a fight, he did not land a punch.

More Fury bullshit. Hennessey bullshit too.

He's asking for someone to fight at a weeks notice. Twat, no wonder no one wants to fight him.

I'm glad people like Ellis are stepping into the ring at short notice and looking to go over as soon as, cos Fury will get a shock when he has a proper fight with a proper heavyweight.

I agree with you, weirdly.
Hennesy called him the most exciting hw prospect since Tyson . Furey hasn't been tested so we don't know how good he is. Tonight was a waste of time

Many on this site were saying this was a decent match up for Fury's fifth fight. As for Ellis not landing a shot, well hard to land when you've been floored!

For his fifth fight I have no arguments.

For those who do not think it was a good match-up, which fighters do you think he should be targeting for his sixth fight?

Ignore that i remember now, it was Juicy by Notorious BIG.

Anyway i think Fury should call out Audley, that would be a great crossroads fight that i think Harrison would take as he is in no mans land at the moment.

He's calling out the top end of the british heavyweights, how about he agrees to fight them giving them plenty of notice. Failing that, anyone that's not four stone lighter.

Weeks notice also applies to Fury lol - point is that he fighting regularly and if he wants a fight with only a few weeks notice, its a short duration for both Fury and his opponent.

Well good for him; he is fighting regularly. I think its a good idea to be fighting plenty, when a fighter first starts out - remember Benn making this point in criticising Audley.

I like Fury, but come on, Ellis just stood there, took a few half-shots and went down. Bigger men than 203lbs are required.

Put him in with Scott Gammer next and then the winner of the Williams/McDermott title fight and if he's still standing at the end of it, then there might be cause to get excited.

Yes I did, but sadly, I don't own a crystal ball. Everyone expected a little more from Ellis.

If he's got British Title aspirations by the end of the year he should fight someone who's much more durable and dangerous. I think Sprott would be a very good oponent for Fury right now - certainly wouldn't roll over - or maybe someone like Gammer.

So it is Ellis you are criticising? To be fair mate it wasn;t you in there taking the shots, thus, I dont think it is fair to comment on the extent of which he should have been able to take more.

@ fist

I knew the fight would be bullshit, even for a 5th fight. I said so at the time. As for who he should fight in his 7th fight( I dont know any US journeyman) I think Chris Burton would be good. He has been treading water since his loss in Prizefighter and sinvce he is 6'5 he will at least be of similar size. I saw his first fight against Swaby and he shipped a fair few so it would be exciting

Obviously for his maangement to risk him the offer would have to be half decent so Hennessey wil need to use some of the £5m Calzaghe Fund to pay up

Fist, did you watch that fight? I didn't see a clean shot land - it was cuffing shots that only half-landed. He come out without thinking - he stood in perfect range of Fury and didn't stand a chance. I thought it was a good match up beforehand because Ellis had a good record, had been in with a few decent fighters and could punch. Plus it was only Fury's 5th fight.

Well I think this match up could be forgiven, however, certainly it will be interesting to see who they come up with next time in light of what happened tonight. As for Fury, well done to him.
