Tyson Fury - what a joke
Tyson Fury - what a joke
Have just watched Tyson Fury having watched all his previous fights. How on earth is he not criticised for fighting someone who is not of his own calibre. Ellis may well have been me!!!!
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
John McDermott - that is the only person who he could have a fair fight with - tonight was a joke - he looked like he didnt even take a standard joe off the street - Ellis didnt even take a shot - he shouldnt get paid !!!!
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
wendxx as has been said its his fifth fight , compared to some he is making bigger jumps. He is only 20
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
McDermott is fighting for this British title soon, so why would he fight Fury over Williams?

Five fights and three against fighters with positive records! Usually guys have ten fights before they fight 1 guy with a positive record.
SSSsssssshhhh now, the grown ups are talkin!
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
There is a difference Mike Tyson is NOT Tyson Fury
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
I am 120% happy with Fury's progression and opponents thus far. I do believe after his American debut, they should start putting him in with bigger lads.

Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
THAT WONT HAPPEN . THEYLL WANT HIM TO LOOK CONVINCING OUT THERE SO EXPECT THE SAME LEVEL IF NOT WORSE , HIS NEXT FIGHT WILL NOT BE A STEP UP BUT MAYBE HIS 7TH WILLDioufy wrote:I am 120% happy with Fury's progression and opponents thus far. Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
Fury is still a kid at 20 & has massive potential in my opinion!
He is fighting regularly & is willing to mix it with anyone. I find him good to watch at the minute and feel he will only get better as he progresses. He has fast hands and size, he needs to improve in many areas but is going about it in the right fashion.
Certain promoters would be protecting him far more than Mick is!!!!

Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
So Ellis is good enough for a 10-0 33 year old olympic gold medallist and a former world champion yet not good enough for a 20 year old 4 fight novice? On paper this was a big step-up. I think Tyson is just progressing very quickly - he'll need some tough american journeymen to get him some rounds. Personally in the little time I saw him he looks like he's improving, he snapped the jab instead of just probing with it like in his earlier fights.
The problem for Hennesy will be holding him back - once he's proved he can go ten rounds at a pace I think he could take Rogan/McDermott.
I think this guy as a choice for the next opponent is alright although again a small heavyweight:

Only been stopped twice in twenty-odd losses, just went 8 rounds with touted prospect Mike Perez and took good ole Sprotty the distance too.

Agreed after watching clips of tysons early fights he really was fighting bums, fury is still to me an unknown quantity he is huge but im not sure about being explosive im sure things will soon become clear. Good on hennesy for moving him along quickly.
Tysons oul fella was dressed like brad pitt in snatch. I didnt actually think travellers dressed like that

They are not going to rush him. They have what they see as potential HUGE money maker so expect him to be moved at this pace for a while.wendxx wrote:Have just watched Tyson Fury having watched all his previous fights. As has been pointed, out it's the norm so Fury shouldn't be singled out.
Speaking of Ellis, I recall when he was a prospect, his promoter Barry Hearn predicting Magic Matthew Ellis would become Britain's first Billion dollar sportman.
Mind you, the same fellow tried to tell us that Herbie Hide was the 2nd coming of Muhammad Ali.

Windy, do as some have suggested and have a look at how prospects are built up.wendxx wrote:sorry are being paid by Hennessey - ahem!!!
You sound somewhat naive.
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
"Bums" I take it you no nothing about boxing. How can you call any boxer a bum let alone Lee Swaby.. I just hope you bump into Lee somewhere on your travels and then have the guts to call him a bum, you BELL END....metropol wrote:sg1985 wrote:whats that got to do with anything? i was comparing the amount of bums they fought at this stage, id go as far to say as tyson fury has advanced further than most heavyweights at this stagewendxx wrote:There is a difference Mike Tyson is NOT Tyson Fury

Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
I think in all fairness you cannot complain about putting him in with Ellis, even though the Blackpool man is a blown-up cruiser who was outweighed by nearly 4 stone. It was Fury's fifth fight and the guy had a winning record, despite what you think of him. I don't think we can ask for much more at this stage.
Re: Tyson Fury - what a joke
There is no need to rush Fury, he has started his career real well, he should be kept busy and there is no need to step him up yet while he continues to hone his skills in the gym.
Of course he will benefit from fighting guys who will hang in longer, but Mike Tyson wasn't fighting any better guys at this stage and was not getting the rounds either
