I think Dunne would stop Munroe around the 7th or 8th round. I am not confident in Rendall's chops. Yes, he faced a massive puncher in Martinez twice and wasn't hurt once, but Martinez didn't look like he could handle Munroe's movement, and thus, couldn't land anything at all. The reason I say I feel Dunne would KO Munroe is that Munroe has been wobbled a few times by folk I have never heard of. Martirosyan had him hurt a little, and I think both Bouaita and Trotta troubled him too. And they're not really great opponents.

Dunne's last fight was a great effort and one of the fights of the year, but its also the type of fight that can shorten a career, will it make him , or has it taken a toll?

A few people have commented on other forums and the actual commentators when he fought Martinez, that Munroe was getting a bit cocky and things he has said in the press do make him sound like he is getting too big for his boots, so it is not just my opinion. He may be a nice down to earth guy but some of the stuff he and Maloney comes out with makes no sense whatsoever.
I mean come on, saying that he was not that impressed with Dunne's beating of Cordoba and at the same time he is getting ready to fight a 3-2-1 record! That is a bit illogical to me.
And also Frank if you are reading this you may want to explain something that was brought up on another forum, you say that Rendall was sitting at ringside at Dunne V Cordoba and was saying to you, "get me him", while pointing at Dunne. Now up until the 11th round the fight could have went either way so why wasn't he pointing at Cordoba also and saying, "get me him"?! Do you just make this shit up or what?
Dunne has the right idea in my opinion, he never disrespects other boxers and since the Martinez fight, does not take any fighter lightly.

I don't fathom the stupidity of some contributors on here.

Maloney is a promoter.

With Munroe European champion and Dunne was that bloke who used to train in America but got chinned in one against the Spanish fella, whu would Munroe go running to Ireland for risk and mediocre return.

Maloney and Peter built up the rivalry while Dunne regrouped and Munroe earned.

Peters took a gamble, Maloney watched. Peters came through and now has the upper hand.

A fact Maloney accepts and is now trying hard to force Peters to use that leverage to make his own man the obvious next foe.

By offering £200k for a fight he knows Peters will want to promote he sets the bar for any offer to hos own fighter.

If Peters then offers a figure of say less than £100k for Munroe Maloney can reject it as derisory and either force the hand if he's got the public behnd the fight or move away and follow through the European path.

By making noise Maloney has tied together Munroe and Dunne's names. Now lest we forget Dunne is one of two WBA 122 pound champions, so he shouldn't get too far ahead of himself either. And Peters would be very brave to pay Callabero to come over as Dunne's first fight after a trenches victory to get the belt. They've discounted Wayne as they foresee a one sided beating of a loved legend and they want no part of it so where does that leave them.....

Listening to the clamour Maloney is trying to make for the Munroe fight.

Remember it was only through noise and bluster that Haye got a title shot at Wlad....

Promoters promote, to do that they have to offend, make friends, make outrageous statements, strategise, manouvre - play the fkking game.

Give Maloney credit for being fkking ringside, for wanting the fight. And I think, to answer the specific question about Munroe saying "get him", Maloney originally said Munroe had said he wanted either one of them during the fight - but logically rephrased the quote to focus on Dunne.

agree OBI> last Maloney card I saw, after every fight he went to the 'away' fighter and had a word, looked like he was thanking them for putting on a good show, especially Max Maxwell who gave the local lad a cracking little workout. i thought it a nice touch on FTM's part and he never struck me as a *****either
Maloney consistently puts on evenly matched shows where the house fighter is involved in a decent tussle.

I've always enjoyed reporting on Maloney shows, as I know I'll get to see some decent bouts.

Whatever people Say, Maloney is a boxing man through and through, he's fought as an amateur, and has trained, managed and promoted fighters for donkeys years - he deserves his due.

"With Munroe European champion and Dunne was that bloke who used to train in America but got chinned in one against the Spanish fella".

That is a ridiculous statement so let me rewrite it for you so it actually resembles the truth.
"Munroe was a largely unkown boxer who won the European title off a mediocre Spaniard, having done nothing of note before hand (having lost to Andy Morris in the one real step up in his career).
Dunne was that guy who trained under Freddie Roach, sparring with Vasquez,Mosley,Pacman, etc in the Wildcard gym, came back to Ireland to win the European title by beating the very capable Esham Pickering (former British, Commonwealth and European Champion), defended his title twice and got then lost to Martinez."

Anyway...

If Munroe was half the fighter he is thought to be my some, he and Maloney would not need to go through all this media baiting in order to get a title shot. Why not simply go after another title holder? This so called rivalry only exists in Munroe's and Maloney's minds, it is not real! Munroe beat Martinez, so what, does this make a rivalry between him and Dunne? No it does not and Maloney trying deperately to make it out like Dunne is now somehow running from Munroe ("his biggest rival"?!) is ridiculous and an insult to anyone who knows anything about the whole situation.
Matinez V Dunne... now there is a rivalry which could be talked up and actually makes sense, it probably won't happen but it is at least a fight that makes sense.
You say,"Maloney originally said Munroe had said he wanted either one of them during the fight - but logically rephrased the quote to focus on Dunne."
So Maloney is making this shit up, that's what you're telling me. Does anyone honestly believe that Munroe would be even contemplating a fight with Cordoba if he had won?! I can tell you there is no way he would. I don't think Munroe would take on Cordoba even now that he has lost!
Why the fvck should anyone be giving Maloney credit for being ringside? It takes a big man to go on a forum stating that Dunne would "get his ass kicked" and then sit smugly at ringside, huh? And you call others stupid?!!

But thanks ever so much for explaining to me the intricacies of boxing promotion, I never would have figured out Maloney's motives otherwise!

Yeah, maybe Maloney should be trying to raise Munroe's profile by matching him with some decent opposition, (say like someone with a few more than 3 wins on their record), not off the back of Bernard Dunne.

first time i've ever heard it suggested that someone does the bins for the humour/novelty value.... yeah, alarm's going it's 3.30am, i really better get up hadn't i? you know what? i can't be arsed today I'm knackered...i may as well just jack it in... but wait, not so fast! i'd rob my fans of a gimmick.... I just can't let them down like that, it's off into the cold winter's morning for me again, i just hope my yellow jacket wearing fans appreciate the effort.
