GARY DAVIES – Became the NEW British Bantamweight champion by beating Mathew Edmonds with a 7th round stoppage at York Hall live on Sky last Friday evening. Gary put in an excellent performance and proved that he is not just a puncher by also showing great footwork and a boxing brain to match the undoubted power he possesses . A Professional for close on 7 years Gary had only 12 fights experience banked going in to this fight and the manner in which he won the contest bodes well for the future , he will take some beating.
MARK MORAN - Has had a terrible week as opponents and titles changed for his fight this coming Friday at Leigh Sports village , thankfully Jason Booth has stepped up to the plate after he also suffered with a pull out and boxes Mark for the vacant Super Bantamweight British title. Both champions Mathew Marsh and Lee Haskins pulled out with under 2 weeks to go and left Promoter Frank Maloney with a massive headache as the number of possible new opponents at these 2 weights is very small and it was close on an impossible task to solve – Hats off to Mathew for relinquishing his title and also Jason for stepping up to ensure the following show still takes place.
