I probably should have watched it instead of watching Deliverance.

Lower top 10.

I missed the show. Is there an internet link to his interview?

I considered entering Afolabi this month, but I decided against it as I thought it was unlikely he would continue his career in Britain. Did he say he was going to be British based from now on?

I will consider entering him after his next win, if I am more assured of his British indentity.
he said on the show he is a British Passport holder / Citizen.

He was born in the UK and spent longer (I think) in the UK than Lennox Lewis did.
Haye, Hide and Lewis were all British based for large portions of their careers. Afolabi has only had one fight here. This is a British P4P ranking, so I think fighting in Britiain or Ireland is important.
stujones wrote:If you are convinced he is British, why wait till he next fights (and even more he next wins).... It could be 6 months down the line and Enzo will be still ranked above him.
I am not convinced he is British. Is he a British citizen?

Enzo is not ranked above him, as Afolabi is currently ineligible for inclusion.

Hatton's only bothered to fight once in Britain in years, maybe think about sacking him off the list ???

Shouldn't matter where they fight, it's nationality that counts.

I didn't see it, but I will take your word for it. Is he also an American citizen?

Hatton has fought the vast majority of his career in Britain and will likely fight here again.

Does (joint) citizenship count as having that nationality?

He's British. Born in Britain raised in Britain and holds a British passport. He opted to fight in the states cause there is better sparring, money and coaches.

What I think you misunderstood my other point... you said you "might" consider him after his next win. Why does he have to win before you consider him? Why can't you just say "yep okay, I didn't realise how British he was - I'll consider him next month"?

What happens if he loses to a good fighter? Does he still not make the P4P list even though you have decide he is elligable? Its surely not a long process to decide if he is elligable or not. So if you decide him elligable, then why wait till his next fight? cause it will look silly an elligable fighter not even in the 30 when Maccrinelli is knocking on the door of the top 10.

It is a British rankings, but Ola is elligable to fight for the British title... some of the fighters on your list are not.

He has an American accent and fights out of the United States. I don't see the point in ranking a fighter whose future fights I will quite likely not be able to see, and who only has a questionable British identity.

I want to wait and see if there is any change in his circumstances. If he decided to fight out of Britain that might be enough for me to decide he is "British enough".

If he loses then his exclusion is not really that important.

Are you sure he is eligible for the British title?

Well I can't say for certain but if you can be born outside of Britain and fight for the British title(for example Honeyghan and Hope) then I'm pretty confident that if you are born here then you should have no problem.

He is a british citizen and a former Caius boy ( Battersea Boys Club) - he is British!

Well, If I move to Australia and become a citizen, do I give up my UK status?

I do not think so, but would like to know.

He beat Kiko Martinez twice who has a win over WBA interim champion Bernard Dunne. He is also the super bantamweight champion with four defences. To rank him at about 18th would be ridiculous. I think his current position is well deserved.
He fought Kiko twice, an Armenian who came to fight but was outclassed for the whole fight and two fighters who quit. He deserves to be in the top 20 but not top 10. Munroe is massively overrated.

Doesn't matter what you say he will do his own thing.
Best thing to do is ignore his post each month.
Sooner or later he'll get the message - and f off.
Have you considered the possibility that some people might actually like this list?

I do listen to what posters have to say and I take it into account when I make my decisions.

Why does my list offend you so?

He's as British as Adrian Stone - he has a British passport, he resides in the states... but he is elligable to fight for the British title. Waytne McCullough is a US citizen who hasn't fought in the UK much, but you kept him in cause he was elligable to fight for the British title. I didn't realise accent was so important.

Of course it matters if he loses and you not ranking him. Say he fights Adameck and loses.... he's still beaten Enzo Mac and KO'd him - something that MUST simply be considered, considering Enzo Mac in in your top 15. It simply wouldn't make sense.

I don't know about that. But, if you started boxing in Australia at a decent level, I would probably be reluctant to rank you in my top 30.

Who should take his place in the top 10? Cook, Maccarinelli or Arthur?

Munroe is on a good run and is beating highly ranked European fighters. There are not many other British fighters doing anything as impressive at the current time, in my opinion.

Adrian Stone fought out of Britain for the last few years of his career. Ola Afolabi is not a British based fighter.

It doesn't really matter, as I don't currently consider him to be British.

Dunen didnt outclass Kiko so give Munroe some credit for doing so.
Also Kiko martinez (clue is in the name) is spanish not armenian.
