That's nothing new. It's always been that way. :) And now that Kronk is no longer around, I don't think there are any clubs that stand out as producing the "best amateurs."

Kronk is no longer around? That might be a surprise to coach Sugar Hill, Craig Lewis, JLeon Love, and LeAndre White. They all seem to be doing well (except for JLeon's injuries).

Last I heard, Ron, is that Kronk closed - but that was some time ago. Thanks for the correction.

The original Kronk gym is closed. They have been moving the gym around to various locations. Last I heard they didn't have a permanent facility yet. Maybe they do now.

Ron - what is J's injury now? Last I heard he was all healed up from his car accident and didn't have any problems.

I heard he had broken his hand, but it was fine now. This was after the car accident. Sounds like he's had a tough year. Also, I think they have been in the same location for several months now.

They were in other locations for months too. If they don't own the building or have a long-term lease, they may move again within the next year.

i know my club used to be a "kronk" gym when it was located on denison, im at HARD KNOCK BOXING/J.A.B. training for johnny avon jr. i think we produced some great amateurs in the past, johnny's worked with guys like juan mcpherson and eddie alicea and recently has been working mostly novices, if your familiar with avon or his father or grandfather you know they are great trainers.

i think the best fighters are coming out of my hometown cincinnati,ohio down there kids are becoming the best fighters but also indianapolis,indiana has some exicting fighters too but just not been discovered yet.

From what I've seen, Michigan ( Detroit area also ), Ohio, I like some of the kids I've seen in Fort Wayne, Ind, but I believe they have to go thru Michigan, and I like Chicago ( if they can stay out of trouble ). Indianapolis is o.k., but none of the northern cities are allow to box Indiana GG. Gary, South Bend, Michigan City, and Fort Wayne would give Indiana a strong team, but those cities have to go thru Michigan or Chicago.

For the record, I think the most successful amateur club of all time has been the TACOMA BOYS CLUB out in Washington. A roster over the years from out of this world (Mylon Watkins, Johnny Bumphus, Sugar Ray Seales, etc etc)

Kronk is around and they have a strong team, you see them at every national tournament, J'leon Love Leandre "Blue" White and craig lewis. and coming from the juniors winning J.O and silver glove nationals erick delon......Kronk is still arond and gettin stronger.

ohio is good to, with brett simmons, yahodale, eddie alciea, ra sheed wareen and must more. but as just a tem stand kronk is strong and getting stronger

KRONK has different teams, though, right? I dont think it is like the old days where the KRONK was just at the one spot in Detroit. Now you have guys who technically fight for Kronk but dont even live within 100 milesof Detroit. They just wear the colors. That's a lot different than one gym producing a bunch of top guys

I dont know about amateurs coming out of a specific boxing club, but I have to give credit to the state of OHIO. And yes I am a little biased DD You have two Olympians: Raynell and Raushee. You can also look at Miquel Gonzalez, Shawn Porter, Marc Davis, Mickey and Cortez Bey, Eddie Alicea( JO GOLD w/ international exp), Zeddie Adams (2x JO GOLD w/ international exp). Shout out to Clint Martin (GODFATHER) Salvation Army Cleve, Oh. Sorry if I left out anyone from OHIO ;;-)

Kronk Gyms are even in different countries now.

There is one main kronk in detroit. yea there is one in ireland....kronk belfast....but there is still one main kronk and it is in detroit. The colors only come from manny stewart.....there is kronk dearborn where the arabs box at....but we are still one.........and yes big ups to Ohio.... Ohio vs detroit be big all the time.... kronk just fought in ohio, toledo and went to win 3 of 5.....

With one of kronk stand outs Leandre White beating Roy barringer for the 5th time.
And upcoming kid name lance 3-0 with 3K.O is doing big things.

I cant wait so see J'Love, Leandre White and craig lewis back at nationals.
