Fancy Hatton big time for this fight, think he will be too strong for manny wouldn't be surprised if hatton stops him.

Either way should be fight of the year contender hope the ref gives hatton a bit of time to work out of the clinches though unlike against mayweather until the ref realised floyd could hold his own on the inside.

manny will try to get his shots off then get away like against de la hoya but think they'll under-estimate hatton's ability to cut down the ring.

Hatton 7/2 to stop Pacman. I have jumped on that and tested the water with a tenner. Once the sky hype starts I'll probbly drop more on it

Going with my gut instinct, I thnk Pacman wins. Hatton should be favourite based on the fact he's the proven man at 140, and Pacman has moved up so far, but I think that Pacman's speed will trouble Hatton immensely, and that Whilst Pacman hasn't got the power to knock Hatton out cold, he will smash him up ober 8 or 9 rounds and stop him on his feet.

Agree with everything bar that Hatton should start favourite.

Pacquiao has looked simply awesome in his last several fights.

I agree one hundred percent with your prediction.

pac wins this. Hatton is gonna look old and slow in comparison. i see a sustained beating for a proud hatton until the ref steps in.

Well if you consider that Pacman's best results in recent times were a highly debatable win over blown up featherweight Marquez - and a less than stellar and smaller (than Hatton) Diaz, followed by his win over a dessicated DLH - then I think Hatton is the natural favourite at 140.

But I think the result will be that Pacquaio is too quick and too accurate and he will just keep landing and hurting Hatton.

Maybe! But I saw something in a few fights and him on the pads/bag that make me think Hatton will struggle with the lateral movement of Pac and speed.

Should be a great fight, hopefull Hatton won't wrestle too much!

Of course Pac is going to smack the shit out of Hatton, only a Hatton fan boy would think other wise.

And regarding this D.G, i don't know whay you guys give him the time of day, he is one of the biggest trolls of all times, i don't know how he's got away with it for so long, probably his own brand of a$$ kissing and backtracking has allowed him to slip the radar, i know for a fact he, and a few others have completly destroyed other British forums to the point where there is only him and one or two of the other idiots left, then he moves his show to another forum and it starts again, take a look at the traffic at Doghouse if you think im wrong, that place was as busy as it gets a few years back now its dead as fook.

P.S/D.G, don't bother replying to this it was not mean't for your eyes, just put me on ignore, i don't want to play so you can do what you usually do and send P.M's to the mods to get people banned.

Hatton is pretty good at closing off the ring, and that is what he will need to do to negate Pac's in-out side-to-side movement, trap him in a corner and pound his body . . . I could see a hatton win, if he still has the fire in his belly.

Come on now, James. That's naughty-naughty tactics to make a point.

You know just as well as the rest of us that you can’t write off Juan Manuel Marquez as a "blown up featherweight”.

That’s a patently absurd point.

Marquez is spine-shiveringly awesome. One of the finest fighters you or I will ever see. And since he's just knocked out two genuine lightweights of quality in his last two fights, I think it's safe to say he was plenty strong enough to qualify as a full blown super featherweight. Marquez is not, and has never been, a blown up anything.

And, even if the decision was debatable, it was close, and to run someone like Marquez close is an amazing achievement. And then, of course, he fought the gatekeeper Diaz, but looked simply sensational doing it. It wasn't just a win, it was a kind of epochal beatdown. Anyone who saw that couldn't help but be impressed. And then he did the same to DLH.

The guy’s been hopping weight divisions like a binge-eater, and he’s been successful doing it.

Hatton, on the other hand, is one fight removed from his performance against Lazcano, and lost conclusively when he last reached the rarified air of the pound for pound pinnacle.

Pacquiao should be favourite.

That said, you summed up perfectly my thoughts on the fight: Hatton will be competitive, but Pacquiao will just keep hitting and hurting him.

What do you guys think of odds of 8/11 for the fight not to go the distance? Is it worth a flutter

Kenny Bayless will referee the bout: http://www.BS.com/?m=show&id=19423

I like Bayless. He's generally a top quality referee. Thank god it's not Cortez!

Unintentionally funny article (as always) from BoxingNews24.com here: Pacquiao-Hatton 24/7 – Manny Doesn’t Look Good In Training

Interesting excerpt:
What I did see was Manny making the same amateurish mistakes that he always makes when attacking his opponents by charging at them and shooting both hands out in front of him as he runs forward. This isn’t boxing if you ask me, and the only reason it’s worked in the past was because of Pacquiao’s hand speed, poor opposition and power.
With Pacquiao being such a hard worker in the gym, this sentence is outrageous:
If you ask me, [Freddie Roach has] done a terrible job because Pacquiao doesn’t seem focused on the training.

Very good, although MAB was considered a "blown up feather" prior to the Khan fight. I thought that also was an absurd comment to make..... not saying you did (I cannot remember).

At least this time I agree with you.
I expect Pacman to beat Hatton at his own game. Hatton is a bully and always comes forward throwing, but also clinching a lot and roughing it up, something Pacman doesn't need to do, because of his mobility, handspeed and stamina, he can keep throwing combinations while Hatton resorts often to landing 2 shots and clinching, then hitting during the clinch, then come back once the ref breaks it.
Hatton hasn't got the same punch output as Manny nor the same energy level. As soon as he won't be able to clinch, he will be very vulnerable and Manny will catch him flush with combinations. Look for a late round TKO with Hatton being badly cut.
