Heck fire.

He was stopped by Ingemar Johansson, Floyd Patterson and Zora Folley. I await correction, but none of these three were on cuts.

All of the other names have more merit in my opinion. Henry was a very good fighter, but a clear step beneath world-class despite dropping Clay.

Cooper wouldn't have lasted 3 rounds with Liston or Frazier, was flattened by the other two champions of his era and wouldn't have landed that left hand on many other of his international-world level contemporaries.

This isn't to demean the ole fella, he'd have been a handful with today's Cruiserweights.

How would have Cooper done against Jimmy Ellis... he has stated that he was supposed to fight him for the title, but the BBBoC wouldn't recongise Ellis as champion so that meant Cooper would have to defend his championship in the states - as Benn did in his early WBO reign, untill a British fighter meant £££££ for UK boxer and all of a sudden the WBO belt was accepted.

A great amateur but, as a pro, no. Christie was flashy and could punch but I would put him behind most of the other fighters mentioned on this thread, especially the middleweights. For me, Watson, Sibson and Graham were better than Christie. Although he had lost before the Kaylor fight, I think this was Christie's pivotal moment. He was never the same after Kaylor beat him.

Ay fair point i suppose,Christie could be a bit with his performances.
