There is a slight chance, but with that website being set up now I'd say its highly, highly unlikely.

If its not announced by the weekend, it won't happen at all I don't think.

they have not started taken money on the site yet. they only want people to register their interest. would love to know how many have registered so far. some people are saying the ppv site is only a back up plan to get the tv companies to hurry up and get coverage.

once they start taken money then we can propably kiss goodbye to tv coverage.

Not a clue folks.

I really hope so though, as I'm reading so many are a) have poor internet and wont risk it or b) refuse to pay ten quid for a laptop viewing.

What was the address for the site?

Edit: Got it! http://frochvtaylor.com/

Edit 2: £9.95 is VERY steep for an internet PPV. It should really be under £5. It's not generally the kind of thing where friends pitch in together.

It's a sorry state of affairs when Froch can't get on the TV with a WBC title fight - Surely Hennessey should be doing a better job for his man?

Agreed, if they'd gone £4.99 I think more ppl might have thought, what the heck, buy it rather than risk getting an unreliable free stream. As it is I'll be getting a free stream all the way, there will be at least 10-20 free streams of it if it's on showtime in America.

Yep. For $20 you can get 135 days access to a reliable stream for every reasonably big fight.

What is the reason for no TV?
is it that they won't pay the price, or that they are not interested?

If I bought this, how would I connect my laptop to the telly to make watching this viable and if I did would the picture be pixalated to hell.

If you have a current LCD or Plasma (HD for example) then you will be fine.

1. If the TV has an VGA in, you can use your TV as monitor and watch whatever is on your laptop screen (sound will come from laptop though)

2. Should the laptop which has an S-Video out, you can use an S-Video cable to connect to the S-Video in on your TV.

3. A Graphics card with Video out the you can connect it to the RCA Video in on the TV and get picture on TV.

4. Or if your laptop has HDMI out then you can connect it using a HDMI lead.

Generally, a decent stream will look pretty nifty on anything upto 37" or so.

all thats well and good hooking it up 2 the tv through laptop but what if the stream crashes and has 2 rebuffer? or if your internet connection stops and has to restart, you could miss minutes at a time.

Its a farce that setanta havnt got this and assured my subscription will be canceled 29 days before the Haye fight

I think there is still time for a twist on this story.

Setanta seal the rights next Monday?

Wouldn't surprise me.

Could you then record it on to DVD?

I do not think you shoud do that. I did the same with SKY and they cancelled it STRAIGHT AWAY!

If you are gong to cancel it then do it the day after the fight, imo.

WHY do ITV have such an aversion to broadcasting any fight thats not from England?

Do they think the limit of peoples interest is the domestic scene?

Christ even blokes who dont normally follow boxing tell me about how great 'that Carl Froch fight was'

I think with ITV the time of the fight may be an issue, along with what Meaty thinks it is worth.

In boxing terms with the media there's ages to go.
Every day the price drops.
Everyone knows he's desperate to do a deal.
Why buy a product on Wednesday when a week later you can have the product for half price ?

Thats all well and good but then the TV company dont have time to advertise the product and dont get as much viewers as a result. Sure, everyone here will tune in if its announced the day of the fight but the "average spots fan" would only watch it if he saw it advertised.

So Setanta will hold off and get a good deal but if they hold off too long then they will shoot themselves in the foot
