Yep, that's precisely what I meant, those 3 are generally regarded to be a step up from the rest in the elite category, though Judah's place there is perhaps not quite earned yet.

Tszyu-Mitchell are the real deal fights

Harris-Witter were the next best thing

N-Dou-Spadafora was the minimum acceptable

Gatti would be the biggest money fight by far I think. As great as mayweather is, he doesn't have the broad appeal of Gatti, and to a lesser extent Hatton.

If Hatton wins this fight, I think that a move should be made for Gatti, who is in the twilight of his career anyhow, and is beatable. I think Hatton would fare well against Gatti, his workrate would give Gatti murders.

Gatti is probably more interested in a showdown with the lighter hitting mayweather however.

I think a few Brits are guilty of overlooking what a tough man Gatti is when comparing him to Hatton. Knockout raised a good point a while back - how long do people think Hatton would have lasted against Oscar De La Hoya at welterweight? My guess is less than a round.

Ironically, Gatti wants DORING-SPADAFORA-MAYWEATHER in that order.

Mayweather wants GATTI next.

GATTI-SPADAFORA is a big fight money wise of course.

Gatti didn't fight Oscar at welterweight, he fought him at Super Featherweight. Whoops, my mistake, it was at Welter. I never realised that fight was at Welter, always thought it was earlier in Oscar's career. Was a non-title affair wasn't it.

Hmm interesting point, however, Oscar and Hatton have very different styles. I dare say Hatton would have lasted 5 rounds though.

The fight was made at Welter, I think Gatti had still be campaigning at Lightweight but coming to the ring 15lbs north of that anyway. SO in theory a fair fight.

I think from memory DLH schooled his ass. Gatti looked washed up, think what Mayweather would do to him.

Gatti is a much better fighter now than early in his career, he's gone back to his boxing, and will do better against Mayweather than some think in my opinion. McGirt is a sound technician, and he will give Gatti some tools to negate some of his assets. I am not saying Gatti will win, but I don't think he will be disgraced. Oscar hit a lot harder back then, and Mayweather isn't a puncher.

De La Hoya beat Gatti handily in the end but he had his hands full until the 5th round onslaught. I don't know what Hatton has in his arsenal that would have prevented him from being swept aside in quick fashion had he made a similarly bold step up.

You'd have to fancy Mayweather over Gatti though as even if Arturo managed to shake him up (as Corely did) it seems unlikely he'd land the punches to finish the job.
