I felt it had a better chance of being ITV1 with British and Euro titles on the line.

As Terry says, if Thaxton wants it it'll probably happen. Though there's less in it for Murray now.

Murray bashes him up, promoter and the ppl sitting next to him wearing long faces - again (as with Meager fight).

If Murray stops yet another EBU top 10 contender, it surely won't be too long for the EBU title fight to come.

I think it's still a good fight for Murray. Thaxton could always fight and beat Mezaache, start talking world titles, and Murray's on the outside looking in, even longer.

As much as I like Jon Thaxton - John Murray walks right through him.

Jon Thaxton is an imennsely brave a courageous boxer - but in my opinion one whose best fights are behind him and to beat Murray he wuld need his very best.

It would be embarressing I guess - but lets not forget he has quite an "ambitious" TV deal with ITV to fulfill.... he loses Thaxton (say he loses) then thats one ITV4 headliner gone.

Been plenty of similar situation... Hatton / Witter... the 2000 Light Middles etc.

Thaxton sparks him imo, Murray is easy to hit and Jon can time him and smash him with counter shots. Henessey needs to start making good match ups and creating a buzz about them instead of making press releases about fighters hes never going to be allowed to polish the boots of

I don't think we can complain about the main event and chief support of Hennessey's shows on ITV. They've been pretty gripping.

Daws vs McDonagh is as good as the average FNF main event.

That simple, eh? Here Murray, hit me so I can land me counter shots, lad!

Anyone with a decent understanding of feints and positioning can have Thaxton n the back foot hitting air & swinging himself off balance.

Murray does him in a similar way that Romanov did him. With more workrate, less power. John's a good punch picker and will do a surgeon's jb on him. When Thaxton tires in the middle of a fight, loses concentration and starts getting cut - big trouble.

If Thaxton can't knock Murray out, Murray grinds him down. Admittedly Thaxton's power is good at lightweight, and it is risky. Thaxton brings 2 things that I don't believe Murray hasn't seen much of - 1 punch KO power and southpaw stance.

Considering how he harped on for years about Khan avoiding both his fighter's, yet he can't even make the match between arguably the top two in the division within his own stable, one of whom is the madnatory to the others belt; yes!
