Froch V Taylor Super Fight Live on High Quality Internet Pay Per View

Hennessy Sports have teamed up with Omnisport.tv, the home of live official sports on the internet to bring British and Irish Fight fans the opportunity to see the Carl “The Cobra” Froch – Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor Super fight live and exclusive online via pay per view at frochvtaylor.com.

The “Continents Collide” clash between Britain’s only reigning World Champion and former undisputed Middleweight kingpin, Taylor takes place at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino in the U.S. on Saturday, April 25th with fight fans on this side of the Atlantic able to watch the broadcast live online from 2am on Sunday morning.

The pay per view costs £9.95 (or €11.00 for Irish viewers) and will give fight fans the opportunity to see one of the most eagerly awaited World title fights of the year. The stream will be available in both 750kb/s and 1mb/s to give fight fans a true quality streaming experience.

Froch’s promoter, Mick Hennessy said, “It’s an massive fight and we’re delighted to be working with Omnisport.tv and Perform who are industry leaders in providing high quality internet streaming and I think boxing fans will be very pleased with the results.

“Carl is fresh from one of the fights of 2008 when he won the title against Jean Pascal and I truly believe he’ll actually better that performance against Taylor. It promises to be a great fight and I think Carl is going to deliver an historic performance to really establish himself on the world stage.”

Oliver Slipper, Joint-CEO, Perform commented, “We’re very excited to be streaming this huge fight in the UK and Ireland live and exclusively on www.Omnisport.tv.

“Watching live sports online is fast becoming the norm and it’s great that Hennessy Sports are embracing this medium which is now capable of delivering pictures at the speed and quality of TV.

“Here at Perform we have built over 225 web, mobile and video broadband sites for major sports associations all over the world and www.Omnisport.tv combines all our experience to enable the delivery of over 4,500 live sports a year from major sports such as World Cup Qualifiers and European Club football, ATP and WTA Tennis, PDC Darts and many other leading sports properties.”

The action gets underway from 2am GMT in the early hours of Sunday morning (April 26) with the chief support fight a battle of super middleweight contenders between World ranked super middleweight prospects Allan Green and Carlos De Leon, Jr.

That should whet the appetitive for the main event and Froch is promising to deliver the best performance of his career. “I’m delighted that my fans back home are going to get the opportunity to see me beating Taylor in style,” said the undefeated Froch. “He says he’s going to teach me how to lose but I have a few lessons of my own in mind for him. It’s a huge fight for me and a chance to prove beyond doubt that I’m the best super middleweight on the planet.”

buncey mentioned his displeasure on his show yesterday that individuals were taking the food out of carl frochs mouth by watching 'free' streams. well, much as i can see bunceys point i dont think froch is a poor and destitute man anyway......and

if you, mr bunce, went into a pub, and one bar had beer at its normal prices in glasses, and the other bar had free beer (the same type) but in plastic cups....what would you choose???

hardly a choice is it !!!!!! :TU:

im not paying for something that is of unknown quality, ive had problems with internet streams before that i have paid for, if i want to watch a stream that breaks/freezes occasionally, then ill make sure that ive not forked out my hard earned cash for it !! the quality of internet streams is not guaranteed. for 5 quid i might have considered it, or for a cheap PPV on sky.

I feel sorry for Froch that this fight is not being shown on TV over here, but i'll be fcuked if i'm forking out a tenner for a stream that, as pointed out above, cannot guarantee quality. Additonal to that, Froch does not have the fan base that qualifies him to be PPV material!

I'll watch the free one, thanks!

I would be prepared to pay at least a tenner to watch this as a PPV on TV, but am very wary of paying money for an Internet feed. I think the fight is worth it - I just don't think the technology (at least in my house) is up to it. I might see if the Sports Cafe in London is able to hook up a computer to one of their big screens if they're still open at that ungodly hour.

It's a funny one really. I wouldn't mind paying a little for an internet stream but £10 is a bit steep - streams aren't great to be honest. £5 would have piqued my interest.

This is a f*cking piss take, no one in their right mind is going to pay a tenner for stream when you can get it free on various websites. They need a rethink quick. Give it to a TV station for next to nothing, they will still make more money than some crappy stream, they could probably do a deal that allows them some of the advertisement money.

You can bet Hennessy will by trying to get as many free streams removed as possible on the night

There's a few problems.

No one wants to pay £10 for a stream which might not be very good.
A lot of people won’t have a good enough computer to run a stream anyway.
Some people might have a computer which will run the stream ok, but not good enough to warrant spending £10 on it.
There will be some boxing fans, even in this day and age. That won’t have a computer/internet.
Streams are too unreliable.
Even if you have a decent computer (like me). Some streams still don't run well, and what if you experience a computer problem. Like an error in flash player etc. You've lost £10.
There are many online free streams anyway. You have a better choice. Different streams can run better for different people. Depending on servers etc. If you do get a bad stream. You have plenty of choice to find one they won’t lag, freeze etc.

This should be on TV PPV for £10. I would buy it and I know a lot of people who will.

Really?? Do you think a small time businessman like Hennessy has any kind of say or would even know how to get them moved. The reason the fight is not on TV is that Hennessy's connections probably dont extend past knowing everyone who works in his local chippy.

All Hennessy has to do is threaten legal action if Justin do not remove the streams. Justin won't put themselves in jeapoardy.

What ???

Do you know Mick Hennessy - "Meaty Mick" I can assure you has the necessary connections - he wouldn't have survived this long if he didn't!!!

I have to confess though I laughed at the local chippy comment - by the look of him it wouldn't surprise me if he owns the local chippy!!

I have watched most of Froch's fights in the last couple of years and this is the one I want to see the most. I just can't believe no tv channel in the UK was willing to purchase it. Someone whether on the tv's side or more likely I suspect Hennessey side has got this badly wrong. Surely the exposure would more than it more than worth it in the long term if the tv companies weren't offering much! Froch rightly or wrongly is a nobody outside the UK. Just look at boxing sites such as thering and ESPN and there is barely a mention of this fight or Froch. He needs exposure and a big fan base in the UK can go a long way (just ask Hatton!).

I agree with the other posts comments. A tenner is too much for a stream. Streams are too unreliable and tough to record. Plus the fight won't be till 4am uk time and there is a high chance I will fall alseep and miss it!! Since its a stream recording it to make sure I still get to see it is not really an option so I am not willing to risk losing a tenner!

Could someone pm with sites that stream boxing for free? I used to use streamtvnow but I don't know what free ones are about.

PS. Froch to win by KO in the later rounds! Taylor has no passion or desire for boxing and it will show when the fight gets tough.

Colin
