Nathan Cleverly vs Danny McIntosh: British light-heavy title

Nathan Cleverly is set to face Danny McIntosh for the British light-heavyweight title that has been vacated by Dean Francis.

Unbeaten Cefn Fforest fighter Cleverly already holds the Commonwealth crown and, at 22, is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in British boxing.

He has won all 15 of his fights, five of the victories by knock-out.

Norwich's McIntosh, 29, has only had 10 professional fights, but, like Cleverly, he boasts a 100% record.

The bout could go on the undercard of Amir Khan's challenge for Andreas Kotelnik's WBA light-welterweight title on 27 June.

Cleverly has long held Francis in his sights, but the Bristol-based fighter is looking to campaign at cruiserweight after difficulty boiling down to the light-heavyweight limit.

Cleverly should win on points. Could be a good fight, though.

I didn't think fight would happen because Clev's with Frank and Danny's with Mick.

I think McIntosh needed two more fights before this - I think Cleverly will stop him late.

Perhaps around the 9th or 10th.

even if mc. is goo enough for Clev, it's too early for him, has to be IMO. only x-factor is, is Clev's concentration and chin good enough to make sure he doesn't get caught with the big one? i assume Mc. will be the puncher in there...

Bomber- i know you will answer this honestly either way, do you think you're ready for the winner? as you've said id have to back you to stop Mc. if he doesn't keep his chin away from trouble, i don't think you are the man to be putting a chin out to dry in front of *understates case a bit* :) if anything bellew is a worse match for Mc. than Clev is, as I don't see Clev. taking him out early, Mc. took the shots he had to fairly well vs Spartacus, problems seemed to be more to do with stamina, he was fighting tense early on and used energy early.

I'd like to see him against McIntosh before Cleverly, though. Cleverly should be at least a level above McIntosh.

Let's hope this one comes off. Cracking matchup between two exciting up and comers. Experience makes me side slightly with Cleverly but McIntosh showed grit and determination to come through Spartacus and I think he has a great chance of pulling this one off. At least he won't drop as easy as Samson Onyango!

Hope it comes off, wouldnt be surprised at all if it didnt. I dont quite think Danny Mc is ready for this in terms of his experience as he still makes some silly mistakes, Cleverley looks pretty slick and could simply outbox him I reckon. Give Danny Mc a few more fights and I reckon after about 15 fights he might be more ready for his shot? I'm sure he doesn;t see things that way and would rather just grab the shot while he can and I suppose who could blame anyone for that.

I just dont know why people rate Cleverly, McIntosh is better but maybe needs more experience. If Bellew is as good as he and others think he then he should blow these 2 guys away and early.

different strokes for diffrent folks i think teddy- Clev's got a nice relaxed style just looks smooth and polished. Mc. is more orthodox looking, when i saw him i thought his jab was a thing of beauty t b h. good fight anyway

If this goes to points I heavily favour Cleverly.
McIntosh can look flash but I don't think he's disciplined enough to win on points.
But Danny can whack, so it will be interesting to see what happens when he lands.
Although McIntosh has had the perfect 'learning' fights with Spartacus and Barney, I feel he could do with two more before taking on someone of the ilk of Cleverly, who I think will win a world-title.
There's also question marks over McIntosh's fitness - can he go 12 rounds? It will be fun finding out.
But going off what I have seen thus far, I think Clev's work-rate will cause problems.
So for me, Cleverly stops him late, not with power shots, but with a constant barrage of punches - I wouldn't be surprised to see his corber pull him out.
It's just too early for him.
Although I really like Danny and I want him to knock Clev out.
C'mon Danny, although I think Clev will win.

This'll be a Great fight if it comes off (I won't hold my breath). I slightly favour Cleverly, but it should be a cracking bout
