Re: Re:
I came on with a big statement about Khan being hurt by just about every jumped up Super-feather he's faced, and it was completely ignored. Stop analysing Khan's loss to Prescott as a lone entity - his ridiculously weak chin has been exposed against just about every opponent of note he's faced. Couple this with his overrated offence (how can you not even hurt a one eyed small old Barrera over four rounds which shouldn't have been allowed to go on???) and it's clear Khan is not EVER going to reach genuine world class. He'd struggle with Thaxton and Murray, and I think Kotelnik will school him hard despite Warren's attempts to get him an 'easy' route to a title. It will become painfully clear when they get in the ring that Kotelnik is a genuine LWW, and one with half decent punch resistance to boot. I think Khan may look flashy for a round or two, and don't expect a stoppage, but Kotelnik wins middle rounds for me.gobbles wrote:I assume you haven't asked Richard Abril, how hard Prescott hits.crusader wrote:Are you kidding? Toledo, who had been stopped on 4 other occasions, was an open target all night and took flush left hook after flush left hook (as opposed to getting badly hurt by the first one that landed), but guess what? He went 10 rounds. And mentioning other boxers fights with Prescott is complelty relevant. It shows that they can take the same punches that Khan couldn't, in great numbers as well.I was talking about the specific punches that Precott landed against a virtually defenceless Khan. Prescott strikes me as a good puncher, big for the weight who runs out of ideas midway through a fight. But, of course, you can just write my opinions off as those of "a fan" if it helps your cynical nature.
Merely quoting other times he didn't knock boxers out is completely irrelevent, as other boxers would have gone in with a more surviving mentality and not presented the open target Khan did.
Virtually defenseless Khan?Dropping you hand slightly after a punch does not make you virtually defenseless, virtually defenseless would be if his hand were tied behind his back. Again watch Prescotts fight with Toledo and you'll see Toledo did that numerous times and was just as open of a target. But I guess you dont want to bring that fight up because its a testament to Prescotts overrated power and Khans glass chin and it thwarts the "Those punches would've knocked out anybody" arguement
You can ask Richard Abril too and he'll tell you Prescott doesn't hit that hard, he should know. Prescott landed more than one left hook on him and he wasn't knocked out and at no time was he rocked by a jab
I guess those shots by Limond, Drilzane, and Gomez would've knocked down anybody as well lol
Here we see the problem of this board, the mob mentality. The perceived wisdom is this, so anyone who says anything different must be belittled. And if you can put in a frew more smilies, it adds so much gravitas to those opinions!
First off, Khan clearly does have a suspect chin, I haven't denied that. 2 Against Drilzane, Khan tripped over the bottom rope, so the knockdown there obviously isn't an example of him being chinny.
He was defenceless against Prescott because he was hit by everything Prescott threw.
Toledo has been stopped by who? Humberto Soto and Lamont Peterson - no shame there. Didn't see the fights, don't know what sort or punches he was caught by. I did see the Prescott-Toledo fight and Prescott looked out of sorts and didn't put his punches together well. That's boxing, it feature people, not stats and machines - some times people look like world-beaters, other times they look terrible.
However, as I was sat yards from the punches that Prescott landed on Khan, I know how bloody hard he was hit. He was probably caught a bit cold, but Prescott finished him off in impressive style. And he wound some of those finishing punches from his boots. I didn't see the Abril fight, I don't particularly see it is relevant. But Precott has stopped 18 of his 21 opponents, so I reckon that be some sort of proof that he can punch.

That would be a total mismatch as Valero punches so hard and Khan has a china chin I think Khan has learnt his lesson from last time he fought a huge hitterKO-KING wrote:another reason is because valeros won the wbc belt

The fact it's "Sun-reading crap" is exactly WHY the fight would be so big if it was to happen.sharpei_louis wrote:KHAN HAS BEEN WOBBLED BY MICHAEL GOMEZ, WILLIE LIMOND AND DESTROYED BY PRESCOTT.
How is this forgotten? For all Khan's celebrity status, Gomez and Limond wobbled him, god a Barrera jab wobbled him. He's got a decent offence, but who has Khan himself blown away at LW?
I've never heard anything so crazy as this Khan-Hatton talk! It's utter nonsense, real schoolboy know nothing idiotic Sun reading Stella quaffing crap.
