Carl Wall convicted of assaulting partner

Liverpool's unbeaten Carl Wall was found guilty of assaulting his partner at Halton Magistrates Court recently. Wall punched his partner of 11 years, Stephanie Davis, several times and whipped her with a belt, the court was told.
The incident happened after a row between the pair on January 18 this year. Wall, the 1996 ABA light-welterweight champion, stormed out of the house and got into his car. Ms Davis then threw some of his clothes out the window. Wall went back inside and was met with a slap in the face, damaging his nose. The fighter's nose had only recently been operated on to help his breathing when in the ring.
The rest goes without saying.
Wall denied punching her and said the couple had only wrestled on the bed, and he had only thrown the belt at her. He told police in an interview: "I am a boxer and if I hit her, I would ******* break her jaw." But photos of Ms Davis showed bruises under each eye and to her body.
He was found guilty of common assault.
The court heard Wall and Ms Davies were now living in an 'uneasy truce'.

If it's true, I don't want to be seen sticking up for him, but he's got a point. As a boxer, he'd have knocked her block off if he'd have actually punched her. Maybe she is lying? Not that its my place to say.
