when this was announced it was obvious it wasnt going to be on telly.

It's either £9.95 on omnisport, find a dodgy free stream or fivelive, you choose :)
Or a paid stream that gets all the big fights. At £9.95, I'm not going with omnisport.

To answer somebody's question - nope, HBO have no clue their head honcho is a numpty.

Had this been Taylor v Trinidad it would be on, had it been Taylor v Jay Leno it would have been on, had it been Taylor v Manfredo it would have been on.

The test stream isn't great. Is there any real difference between the lo-def and hi-def options? I didn't notice any.

That was the only way I'd have bought the fight, if the stream was head and shoulders above the alternative streams in terms of quality.

Not buying it.

Not too impressed with the test stream. When you put it in to HD full screen it is still not very good quality.

Was seriously considering paying a tenner for it but not now, other streams on the night will be just as good I am sure.

Very true, Edwina..

Because we pay certain channels just because we want BOXING.. They can screen fighter that some people have never heard of, but a British World Champ ( WBC not WBU) does not get shown.

If this happens again I wil ditch Setanta and watch free streams that I always seem to come across.

I cancelled SKY SPORTS and have not missed anything due to free streams..

But - should Fwank Warren be reading this, I have never watched a free stream in my life and my Boxrec log in has been stolen.

It's a business stalemate really more than anything else, Hennessy obviously values this fight at a certain price and the TV companies see it differently. Problem is very few people outside of boxing fans know who Froch is so are the TV companies going to take the risk of paying what they see as over the odds to show a fight involving a fighter largely unknown to the masses at a time when most of the people who are awake are pissed out of their heads and eating a kebab on the high street? TV companies have a budget just like any other business and if they don't think the product on offer is worth the price then so be it, if Mick doesn't want to lower the price then so be it, as has been mentioned before he's a business man, his job is about making as much money as possible.

It just makes it a shitty situation for us boxing fans, especially the ones who pay subscription fees to the likes of Sky and Setanta solely for the boxing. Froch can't complain if this online PPV bombs - well he can but only to his promoter, as it's Mick who is supposed to be the deal maker.

I can't see any options. Am I on the wrong page? I'm clicking on "View Test Clip" here: http://www.omnisport.tv/page/purchasePa ... 77,00.html

In Boxing news it said that the internet lark and lack of TV willnot have any negative effect on Froch's 'Life Changing Purse'..

Froch also said he may ditch the UK and base himself in the states.

If he destroys Taylor then I would not blame him staying on!.

I say this PPV does about 700 buys.

Really? It's pretty awful on my end, the difference between SD and HD is negligible, blurry in HD, moreso in SD.

Either way, the HD option is no better than the stream available from the stream site I subscribe to, so I'm going with that.

If the untelevised portion of the undercard was decent, and the PPV stream had those fights then that would have swung it despite the stream quality, but the decent fights will probably all get airtime.

Dont blame Froch for considering a jump to the states, he's not exactly getting much love this side of the pond, a win over Taylor would put him on the map.

I first watched when I was in Linux Mint. Now I'm in Windows XP and the quality looks worse. Also, I had to turn of AdBlock Plus to get it to work.

The test demo is pretty good, I was just wondering has anyone ever bought an event from Omnisport in the past?

I fancy paying the tenner because sometimes free streams get taken down and it's a lot of hassle finding them, especially when youre doing your own scorecards and miss out on rounds.

Maybe this one will not get taken down coz we cant watch it over here on telly and that it's on Showtime, but I dont know if I will take the risk.

Fury not fighting now is he? Not according to boxrec anyway and heard that Malignaggi fight is a non televised one :x

I was against this but I am going to stand corrected by our very own David Payne !!

Hennessy has made a massive effort here and this fight deserves our support - if it goes wrong with regards quality - lets complain afterwards - I am furious with the TV Companies and I remain convinced boxing deserves our support and okay this time around Froch and Hennessy will benefit from this.

Come on boxing fans - a change of heart is required here - lets support it and if its sh*t complain afterwards!!!!

I would love to support it. All Hennessy Sports have to do is price it more fairly.
