Margarito Vs Baldimor
The possibility exists that former WBA/WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito could return as soon as June or July against former WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir. The bout would certainly land in Margarito’s hometown of Tijuana, as Margarito and his trainer Javier Capetillo are currently serving a one year suspension in the United States imposed by the California Athletic Commission after it was discovered Margarito had plaster-like substances in his hand wraps before a January 24 fight against Shane Mosley. That suspenson is not observed in Mexico.
Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
It would be a big blow to Mexican boxing if marg was allowed to box there . I think that the Mexicans will consult with the American authorities and ban him . Is that allowed to happen ? Can the Mexicans ban him if he dint do it in Mexico are there any precedents?
Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
Mexico have already announced they will allow it. Sulaiman had a big deal in that. Expect a WBC eliminator if he wins. ![[icon_neutral.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif)
Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
Baldomir has had his Cinderella Man moment. I'd expect Margarito to win this pretty clearly.

WHAT
Mosely mashed him with his Nads?
Is that allowed?
I missed it, gues they would be softer than MArgo's hand wraps though

'That sounds a bit gay'
Feck me, someone who uses Chris Moyles as their arbiter of taste.
Or is it Clarkson, DG?

No interest in seeing MArgarito anymore - the hand wrap revelations mean I just can't get enthusiastic about seeing him fight anymore...
Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
I kinda feel the same. Margarito shouldn't box again, anywhere. He could have killed Mosley in there with those gloves. But I guess we have figured the myth out why Tony is such a slow starter. Those gloves need time to harden, baby. Sad, but maybe true.TerribleTerry wrote:No interest in seeing MArgarito anymore - the hand wrap revelations mean I just can't get enthusiastic about seeing him fight anymore...

Im sure the gloves would be hard by the time he is in the ring , Maybe it takes time for them to take their tollDioufy wrote:I kinda feel the same. Margarito shouldn't box again, anywhere. Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
two of the more sober and reflective posters on here saying this gives me pause for thought. personally, i was never a huge fan. and with the revelations post-Mosley i had to wonder if his im age was irreperably tarnished. then, however, i thought that maybe it would just be swept under the carpet. I mean, Tyson managed to fight again after Holyfield 2. money talks, and all that..Old bones Ian wrote:yep he was one of my favs as well, but i don't want to see him back in the ringTerribleTerry wrote:No interest in seeing MArgarito anymore - the hand wrap revelations mean I just can't get enthusiastic about seeing him fight anymore...
anyway it's no loss to me if he doesn't fight ever again
Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
you rauise a good point there CP.
How many feel that tyson should never of boxed again, I certainly think he should have been banned for life after hi act of cannabalism.
Do we know for sure that Marg was aware of what ocured with has gloves I mean beyond doubt, if so then life ban, but you must be 100% sure he was aware of what was going on.

Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
aye my initial reaction was if there are grounds for doubt then shouldn't margo get the benefit of the doubt? but OBI and TT aren't the usual 'hang em and flog em' brigade and if they are turned off him....
unlike Tyson he hasn't got megamillions to, ahem, 'ease' his way back into the pail he has gone beyond.

Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
I guess the only one who can say 100% is Margarito.
And he says he never knew, but what alot of experts have said is that you can't get your hands wrapped without knowing what is being done.
As for Tyson, I thought he should of been banned for life after he bit Holyfields ear off.
But as it turned out his career ended in far in a more embarressing way, losing to McBride

Re: Margarito Vs Baldimor
Ive heard people saying that tony could be black listed. Im not sure how this type of thing works , i pressume its a blanket ban from all country. Has this ever happened to a boxer?
