Any idea what happened to this fellow Ian Wilson?

At only 6-0 he came in and scored an impressive stoppage win over Henry Castle at short notice, scuppering Castle's chances of a British title crack at Carl Johanneson in the process (if I remember correctly). Boxing News may have even run him as a "Hot Prospect" at the time, yet since that fight in September 2007 he has never officially fought since.
Any clue what happened?

Re: Ian Wilson
I'm sure it was a back injury, he just couldn't train with it.
Shame as he looked good against Castle.

Re: Ian Wilson
As writer of said article, I can confirm that Ian has had many setbacks since the Castle win, all due to problems with his back. He trains for a short time, feels good but then breaks down again. The doctors cannot find what the problem is so it's just a case of training when he can. that said, last I heard he had trained for a few weeks consistently for the first time in a while and was planning to come back. A really nice guy and a real talent.
Re: Ian Wilson
A terrible shame. With his lack of pro experience Wilson really impressed me with his demolition of Castle, who has since rebounded with some good wins, so shows just how good that performance was.
The guy must be so frustrated. So much to offer, but blighted by injuries.![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
