I combined records for Marty Summers, who fought McVey and mickey Walker, among others.
In the McVey record someone entered a 1936 bout for him -- could the person who entered that let me know the source.
It is very doubtful that the bout is correct, so I need more info.

Mike sorry to take so long to respond - I have only just read the original post as I didn't think I had entered anything about Jack McVey. However this is my entry. It was in the New York Times of the following day. This Jack McVey is described as being from Harlem and weighed 158 1/2 lbs. I'll go back and check to see if there was anything else to identify him - sometimes they include the word "veteran" (and I don't necessarily copy this down). The fight was stopped after 2:22 of the first round.

Went back and looked up the report in the New York Times. No further information is given. It was a preliminary bout so it may have been another Jack McVey but unusual for him to be a middleweight from Harlem. Does anyone know if THE Jack McVey finished his career as a middleweight or had he gone up to a higher division ?
Colin.
