Carl Froch vs. Jermain Taylor : Final predictions?

Post by exittored »

I've been waiting till the day of the fight to make a final prediction as i've been going back and forth on who'll win.

I'm going to assume that both boxer's are coming into the fight in Great shape physically and mentally which is more important in Taylor's case as if he's fully focused and still hungry than its got to be him all the way for me!

Froch simply hasnt been in with anyone world class apart from Robin Reid who was a shot fighter when Carl beat him and dont mention Pascal who was no more than a B fighter at best from what i'd seen of him especially the Omar Pittman fight. Beating guys like Sergey Tatevosyan, Tony Dodson, Brian Magee, Matthew Barney, Ruben Groenewald and Albert Rybacki are all C level fighters and dont mean shit at World Level.

Now lets look at Taylor, he has beaten or drawn against 7 world or ex world champions, Bernard Hopkins, Winky Wright, Kassim Ouma, Cory Spinks, Jeff Lacy, William Joppy and Raul Marquez. Sure he got KTFO by Pavlik but came back in the 2nd fight doing enough to maybe have earned a Draw.

If a fully Focused Taylor comes in tonite, I'm going for a Big Win for Taylor by TKO/STOPPAGE within the first 6 rds as he'll be looking to Make a statement.

but if its a Taylor looking for a Final Payday than Froch will win by KO around the 8TH RD.

What are your Predictions?

Froch KO.

He will have to catch Taylor off the counter OR bulldoze him the way he did in the first round against Pacsal.

I'm also going for Froch in 10. No way Taylor's stopping Carl. He's not stopped anyone in nearly 5 years, including the light-middles he fought. If Taylor wins, it will be on points, but I think Frochy will do the business.

Froch will outwork Taylor and his chin wont give way Froch to win by KO10 but maybe down on the judges card

Yes Taylor dosent have a KO since 2005 but since than he's faced: Bernard Hopkins, Winky Wright, Kassim Ouma, Cory Spinks, Kelly Pavlik and Jeff Lacy who all have eaither Hard heads or are runners/defensive masters!

We dont know if Froch has a World class chin as he's hasnt been in against anyone world class, who out of Robin Reid, Jean Pascal, Sergey Tatevosyan, Tony Dodson, Brian Magee, Matthew Barney, Ruben Groenewald and Albert Rybacki has World Class Power, i'll tell you who, NONE!

Froch won't ever have been Hit by anyone with Taylor's Power, accuracy and speed before and thats why i think Jermain could well score a TKO within the first 6 Rds.

Steady on a bit :D

Great fighter, hall of famer etc etc, but not the best fighter ever. His resume is questionable, if you dissect his opponents, particulalrly with respect to their natural weight class or quality of previous opponents, ie, De La Hoya, Trinidad and Pavlik. Great fighter, but's it's easy to get swept up in all the "legend" stuff, which is a tad over the top, as is his nickname "the executioner"

Spinks went the distance and - in the eyes of many - should have got the nod against Taylor. The same Spinks who was stopped by small welterweight Zab Judah. I take your point about the quality of JT's opponents in the past 4-5 years, but I don't think he was a real banger at 160 and will probably be even less of one at 168. His opponents may not have been truly world-class, but Froch has taken a lot of shots flush and never hit the deck. Anyway, we shall see...

Taylor UD12.

Pretty comfortable all-in-all, despite a scare in the last round or two. I expect an Eastman - Joppy situation wherein the English fighter has the tools to win but simply lacks the workrate.
