What, the Great Tommy Morrissey, the left-hooking white heavyweight hope of Rocky V and tragically, HIV fame?

I saw him interviewed a few times but I didn't know he was quite so deep?

Likewise, I haven't looked at the Boxing News either.

I see the fight being an exciting stand and trade affair for the first few rounds;Williams weight suggests this. However, Williams will fold in the 5th from Tyson's bullying tactics.

I also see both men on the canvas!

I think Danny power is a little overated, he has never KO'd a World class fighter.

Tyson KO1? I mean, even Julius managed to last into the second and Tyson's not even the same fighter as he was back then so give Danny a bit of a break!

Tyson in five or six more likely but I've just got a feeling Danny's gonna do it!

Julius Francis also managed to deal with head shots from Samil Sam without much trouble, whereas Danny got KTFO.

If Tyson is going to knock Williams out, why is it so unlikely to happen in the first round? I don't see that Williams can absorb X amount of big shots from this guy. He gets clipped on the chin, fights over.

Williams TKO in round 10.

Williams hurts Tyson in the 9th and almost finishes the job. Tyson comes out for the 10th hurt and the ref saves him after a Williams combination on the ropes.

Yeah right, Tyson KO1.

I will also predict a 33 second fight.

Tyson prclaimed an Ambassador Of Goowill.

LOUISVILLE, July 29th, 2004, 6:30 p.m. -- One day before Mike Tyson fights at Freedom Hall, a member of the Metro Council has stirred up more controversy by presenting Tyson with a proclamation, declaring him an ambassador of goodwill. Willie Bright, a Democrat, said he was responding to positive feedback on Tyson from his constituents. But Republican Metro Council President Kelly Downard says it was a mistake.

Bright presented Tyson with the plaque after Tuesday's public exhibition on 4th Street Live! Each council member is allowed to give out such proclamations with an official city seal. Tyson's specifically called him "an ambassador of goodwill."

Bright defended his actions, telling WAVE 3 News: "I confer with my constituents, and they all like him, and they said yes that would be a good idea, and I did it."

Metro Council President Kelly Downard disagrees. "I think it was a mistake, and I wish he hadn't done it."

Downard is troubled by Tyson's past. He is a convicted rapist, who bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear during a boxing match in 1997. "They are offenses that he's been found guilty of that are offenses against humanity."

Republican councilman Kevin Kramer echoed Downard's concerns. "I think it's unfortunate that we'd offer such a proclamation to an individual with the record that he has."

Since arriving in Louisville Sunday night, Tyson has given a free performance for his fans and an open press conference. Some say Tyson should be given a second chance.

As Master Khalid put it: "Bill Clinton, the president of the United States, has been given a second chance -- everyone makes a mistake."

Bright says the proclamation "is for the future. We're not judging him for the past, we're just hoping he can do some good to the city."

Other people, however, are not so forgiving. Ellen Blice was appalled when she was told about the plaque. "That's a crime -- it's a sin."

Councilman Bright says Tyson has been an inspiration to many young people in Louisville. He says he will be attending the fight Friday night.

The question is effectively "how many rounds will it take Tyson to land a decent punch?" because that is when the fight will end.

Williams punch is over-rated as someone else has pointed out, and I just can't see Tyson getting hurt.

Just remember some of the uppercuts and over-hand rights Lennox landed on Tyson - and it still took 8 rounds for Lennie to stop him.

To those who are suggesting that Williams can KO Tyson early I would ask - do you think Williams hits harder than Lewis?

I don't, so I'll go for Tyson TKO 3.

No I don't, however, that was two years ago, and Tyson is far less active than he was coming into the fight. 49 seconds of real fighting since the middle of 2002. 49 seconds in two years!

Tyson hasn't been in training in the interim at all, and I've heard reports from friends who saw him out in phoenix, stating that before the fight was announced they saw him out getting pissed in clubs a lot.

Don't discount Tyson being completely and utterly shot. I don't think he is just yet, but I won't be shocked if he is.

Danny's punch might be over rated, then again it might be under rated - depends which side of the Atlantic you're on.

But this is HEAVYWEIGHTS remember - if Danny lands a right hand with 260 pounds behind it, Tyson will know all about it.

The right hand that blew away Draskovic would unsettle Tyson. But I just don't see how, under this kind of pressure, Danny will be relaxed enough to deliver it (and land it).

ive said on a few posts now that i think williams has the beating of tyson. ive seen or read nothign so far to change my mind. theres two main ifs here. if danny doesnt freeze and his heads right, and if danny uses hes jab as effectvly as we know he can then he'll do it.

wish i wasnt working at 7am tomorrow so i could stay up and catch it all as it happens.

lots of variables. how shot is tyson, can tyson land. if tyson lands, does danny get back up. how shot is danny. can he hurt mike. if he hurts mike, can he finish him off. if he can't hurt mike, will he panic or keep to his boxing. will danny charge tyson as he said he would. will tyson get disqualified.

my instinct tells me that tyson WILL land in the first round. it will be a single shot and danny will not be able to take it. He won't quit, he'll get up, glassy eyed and willing to continue. the ref will think otherwise.

still, i have 25 quid on danny. come on danny. show some brains and don't go wading in looking for a brawl. it's quite simple, on paper at least.
