Appleby looking to bully the smaller Irishman. The Scot has the edge in strenght but he is loading up with his shots - will he run out of steam down later in the fight. A little bit scrappy but a compelling fight nonetheless.

Well done to Lindsay! I had him up by one going into that round!

Appleby let his emotions take control of him and got into a brawl!

All over! Round 6: Appleby walks onto a big right-hand and left hook and is hurt. Lindsay follows up with some big shots. Appleby holds. Lindsay lands one more right-hand over the top and ref steps in with what, ten seconds left in the round. Looked a bit premature to me, but Lindsay looked the better fighter.

Stopped it a bit early for me. Lindsay was in charge and he had Appleby hurt but he should definitely have been allowed to try and see out the round which only had 30 seconds left.

Appleby looked a bit peed off when announcer said "unfit to continue" so he definitely agrees that the stoppage was premature, he was severly shaken though....

Lindsay just looked like he would continually walk him down and not be denied whereas I think Appleby would have preferred to pick his shots and fight at his own pace.

Great win for Lindsay - the Irish fight scene is buzzing at the moment. Martin was the smaller man in their but his boxing was shaper and he wouldnt let Appleby bully him out of it. Great win. I have been a long time fan of Martin. Really glad he is finally showing how good he can be!

agree with that, after holding on at the ropes Appleby never got his hands up again. I was backing Appleby but wouldn't say it was a bad stoppage.

"thought ref jumped in a bit quick, got hit on top of head but thats boxing" "Lindsay was sharp tonight, sharp....wasn't the crowd that made difference" Appleby seems disappointed but was sporting and sat on apron with Lindsay.....

Tommy Gilmour seems upset.

yeah credit to appleby.

taking it on the chin so to speak.

fed up with the domestic refs at the moment.

don't like seeing guys nailed to the canvas like in american rings. :o

but i also don't like seeing early stoppages like that one tonight. :shame:
