Steve is the Sid Waddell of boxing, sometimes bit mental and left field, but has true passion for the game. love his interviews cos most boxers seem either bemused or scared of him and just tell the truth, Arise Sir Steve

Whilst I accept there is a lot of banter that goes on and Buncey is one of those who has to take it - nonetheless there has been 3 or 4 threads started about him in the last 72 hours and certain comments are in my opinion out of order.

I wrote this on the other thread:

Whether it be Sky TV, BBC, ITV or Setanta - Steve Bunce has always banged the drum for boxing in this country - in addition he has written countless amounts of articles when other bone idle lazy f*cking journalists only used to turn up for the big events and their free food!!!

I f*cking hate Setanta at the moment and there is not a chance I will renew my subscriptions - not a f*cking chance now - but that does not diminish the utter respect I have for Bunce and what he has done for the sport!!!

Give the bloke a break!!!

He's sucking bunces balls but im sure we all remember when he hounded bunce off the ESB boxing forum a few years ago.

F*ck off Spud
Search,

Do you have the balls to state who you really are?

No I suspected not - another one of the spineless cowards who makes statements under the safety of his "keyboard warrior" name!!! :TU:

As for the reasons for posting on here - its a boxing forum, and lets face it, it doesn't take a lot to beat the quality of your posts - your humour comes from the playground and you fail at every single opportunity to bring any substance, quality or knowledge of boxing to your posts.

Please just look at the very first post on this thread - need I state anymore?

I will repeat my previous post:

I was referring to your repeated order that we "give the bloke a break".

:D

(Of course, the point of my post was to have a bit of a laugh at the way you were telling us what we should do. Again)

Morning ladies,
What a night in Belfast. Sadly, I was sober throughout the broadcast. Sorry about that. I was fired up at one or two things that I saw and heard. That is all - it's called passion and if you watch other boxing on TV I can understand why many of you were confused!

Adios.

Hopefully with the recent success of Irish boxers more fights will be put on in Ireland, the atmosphere for shows are consistently pulsating

I like Andy and Buncey, I enjoy the segments in between fights on Setanta as you tend to get a good bit of banter and occasionally the odd outrageous statement, it makes good TV. It seems a bit stuffy on Sky sometimes and as i've said before everyone looks as if they've just been woken up to give an opinion (although seeing how the quality of FNF has dropped, not surprising)

I boxed on a Belfast show once and it def stands apart in terms of atmosphere, only Dublin came close, i've never been to any Hatton shows though, but they did beat the atmosphere when Gomez was fighting

Bunce is certainly an aquired taste.... I think he works best as a sole analysist that Setanta are using him as. When he is there with someone a bit less "in your face" it doesn't seem to work aswell (IMO).

Have to say I was a bit stunned at Bunce's criticism of Harry Carpenter on his boxing hour (when they showed Giovanni Parisi winning the gold medal.... great bit of archive film. Okay, he was mainly having a go at Carpenter's co-commentator, but for me Harry is the greatest sports commentator in the history of UK TV... I'm definately one who thinks sometimes silence is golden and let the action do the talking. Bob Sheridan just annoys me, when does he have time to breath!
