Probably so, Rog. I know he loves fishing and he posted story from the L.A. Times about Japanese who would sneak out of their interment camp during WWII to drop a line in a nearby river. Then another one about Convict Lake. It was probably more than he could take, seeing those guys holding up a line of fish they'd caught. He probably thru his fishing gear in the truck, told Connie he was going out for a walk and disappeared into the bliss of a "Fisherman's Heaven". Randy was probably an accomplice. These Eastside guys are pretty clever.

I'd say they're pretty fishy Something about fresh water fishing or fishing along the ocean shore. For me it's one of the most relaxing ways to spend a day. Gets my mind right in a hurry. Hope they didn't get skunked.

Guess who taught David Navarro to play the guitar? His cousin, Dan Navarro.
The Navarro Family has legendary talent.
Ask any kid today who the hottest rock guitarist is, and 9-of-10 will answer, David Navarro.
Of course, I'm partial to Dan's music, we're the same age.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't had a chance to post lately. I have been busy at work but mainly I have been having trouble with my eyes, especially while on the computer. I have had to cut down on my time online.
I went to the eye doctor on Wednesday and had my eyes checked, My fear was that diabetes had damaged my eyes. As far as the health of my eyes, I got a clean bill of heath. However there is a lot of other stuff going on. I have had double vision for years. On top of that each double had a faint image around it, almost like quaduple vision. One eye is near sighted and the other is far sighted, thereby creating constant eyestrain. After just a few minutes on the computer my eyes would blur so bad I had to get off. It's also difficult to watch a fight.
I will be getting glasses. Two pairs, one for reading and the other for everything else. I am really looking forward to some relief. It's a quality of life thing. Hopefully the glasses will make things better.
Speaking of eyes, my mother is having surgery on her eyes tomorrow. She's having a cataract removed. Jeri will be spending the week with her.

There was a lot of heart on display last night between Gerry Penalosa vs Juan Manuel Lopez and Carl Froch vs Jermaine Taylor but the award for pure heart has to go to the ever gutsy Penalosa. I don't know what the feed them in the Philippines but if they could bottle it they could make millions.

Ironically, Don Fraser told me this afternoon that he had just had catarac surgery.
I guess we're getting old. The glasses should make a big difference.

It sounds like the problems with your eyes can be corrected by glasses.

This is gonna be one of my favorites of all your work.
Zivics one of my favorites also.What a tough fighter he was.Take a look at his resume.
He fought EVERYONE.
To him , boxing was his craft. He was a tradesman.And, if Fritzie lost a fight, he'd shrug his shoulders and say," What the hell, I didnt do to bad, I ran second".
Then, hed jump back in there a week later against anyone.
Unless a guy really knew how to fight,he had no buisness in there with Fritzie Zivic.
He knew every trick in the book and then some.A guy could get a real education in that ring with this guy.

I read somewhere that a young Ray Robinson had apprehensions about fighting Zivic. After he bested Fritzie,he knew he could handle any fighter that thought they had a trick or two inside their gloves.
Rog,Ive heard the same thing about Ray .
Billy Conn made his bones fighting Zivic also. After he beat Fritzie in an all Pitsburgh slugfest, he knew he was for real.

Had the cataract taken out 6 weeks ago. What a relief. You're Mom won't feel a thing while the procedure is being done. Takes about 20 minutes. Go for the glasses. I wore them for 40 years until I went with the soft lense contacts. Might want to try that. Put 'em in the first time and don't feel a thing. Rog

Yes, Gerry Penalosa has a lot of heart, but I must say that I don't like to see any fighter absorb so many hard blows. Hope that Gerry has enough money set aside for his retirement.

Thanks, Rog....But I'm not sick per se, I feel the way do because of the cancer treatment I went through, and its going to be like this for the rest of my life, good times and mostly bad times.
