Horrible idea.

Froch needs to grow and mature as champion if he's going to take on defensive wizards. Hopkins is all wrong for him.

Obviously, Calzaghe a much better idea. If it could ever happen, as Calzaghe has a win over Hopkins, as it means more to US and British market. Cazlaghe is there to be hit, Hopkins is impossible to hit clean.

I have a feeling Froch will go for the unifications and fight exciting young American contenders on Showtime. There will be lots of fireworks, I feel.

I lost respect for Pavlik not only for how the fight went, but mainly the greedy bonehead mistake of taking the fight, at Hopkins' weight, in the 1st place.

This might prove to be a lucrative bout for Froch. However, he should steer well clear of B-Hop is my view.

Carl made a lot of mistakes against Taylor. His defense needs improving big time. Ok, so we know Froch can take a dig but that does not mean you should box with your hands down ridiculously low & keep taking shots! Carl had big problems with Taylor's speed!

Hopkins is a different weight class anyway & I think he would be just as strong if not stronger than Froch. Since moving up to LHW Hopkins has been a lot stronger than was the case when he was at 160lbs. Only severe discipline enabled him to campaign at MW for so long!

I think Hopkins would beat Froch quite comprehensively! I have no doubts Froch would take the fight though.

Hopkins is too big, too skilled and knows all the tricks. Big money yes, but a fight Froch would more than likely lose. Just because Taylor beat him means nothing. Pavlik beat Taylor twice but he failed badly when he fought Hopkins. Pavlik/Froch would be a good fight. Pavlik is big and SM wouldnt be a problem for him. Decent money fight I would have thought and another Yank to get himself better known Stateside. A win over Pavlik would definately enhance his career.

Froch has so much to work on before he can think of taking on a boxer of this sort.

I don't wish to diss Froch's trainer, and I know they have a tight bond and it might be more to do with Froch than his trainer, but I sort of wonder if it might be more worthwhile for Carl to jump on board with one of the big American trainers? Seems a bit now or never but at his age I don't know if he really can get that much better. He certainly wont get much faster, but he needs to improve that stupid defence and get some more ring smarts. On paper he is a smooth operator and is very accurate with his shots, but against Taylor he was outclassed. It looked like a mid table prem club, with some good players, had qualified for the Champions League, then got humbled in their first match against Real Madrid. Strange analogy and at the end of the day Carl did win and he is the WBC Super Middleweight Champion of the world... but not for much longer if he doesn't sharpen up.
