prospect watch list

Post by taftcorb »

I have a prospect list that I send out once per week. It lists prospects by weight class w/ their records, next opponents, where they'll be televised, and a summary of the boxer(If I've seen them before). There are prospects listed that I have not seen. If any of these guys has a bad outing or loss, they are removed............Ricardo Williams, Daniel Eduoard, Francisco Bojado, & Nurhan Suleymanoglu are good examples. If you would like my weekly update, just leave your email on this post, leave it in a message through boxrec, or email me a request at [email protected]. I take all suggestions and will add and remove prospects if I get enough feedback.

Are you saying he is good enough then? I don't undersatnd your statement.

If you're trying to say he isn't good enough I'd strongly disagree - he's definitely a prospect if not more.

And of course Kevin Mitchell is a prospect.

Mitchell's a prospect. If Skelton can make that list, so can Mitchell.

I think Kevin has a lot of potential, i'm fearful he wont make the most of it, the way his career is going. Too many push-overs, and i can see him developing bad habits etc.... but a good prospect none the less.

Yeah, I agree - Kevin has natural speed something not many of our very young prospects have. He has the talent to go places.

It's fair to call a guy with Mitchell's pedigree a prospect.

Also, someone with skills and around 10+ fights to their name is what a prospect is surely.

It's obviously down to your own opinion. I'm not Mitchell's biggest fan, but it's clear to me that he has some very good attrubutes. Not too many boxers have what he has at his age. he stands out from the Andersons, Dohertys etc...

I`d like to see him box somebody even moderately good and give them a few weeks to prepare for a change and of the same weight on the day probably near to 10 stone cos one day like it or not all his opponents are going to be granted these most basic arrangements.

I really think Doherty could go all the way he looks really good, but I guess we won't know until he moves up a class

yeah, time will tell with Mitchell, and this match making could cost him. But you can see what Frank does, he makes his fighters look as spectacular as possible, and the local fans dont know anything about the guys Mitchell is fighting. Mitchell is young, and shouldn;t be rushed, but his progress at the moment is a joke, It will only hurt him in the long run.

Doherty is in the wrong weight class for big fights. he will probably end up getting a padded record. look at michael jennings. He wont get a title shot because barnes, his stable mate is the champ. i think he would get the shot if hare beats barnes.

Mitchell should be in there. but he will probably be wrapped in cotton would untill he is 21.

I think Doherty could easily move up a weight, he's a big lad, and probably still growing, his attitude is just right, he didn't fall for any of Smith's antics, and could have stopped him in the first.

Mitchell is a talent, but his arrogance won't make him any friends, he could become another Hamed/Eubank type where you either love him or hate him, (I am not saying he's on the same level as the two I have just mentioned though!)

What do u mean probably end up with a padded record, hes already got it....Delahedy banged Smith in 3 a couple ov fights ago and a lot of very average 10 stoners have beaten Smith .Hes already picking up bad habits ,hands down pissing about pretty soon he`ll think hes invincible he alreadylooks like he aint a great trainer ,Idespair at these shows now....IFu where a great prospect would u train ure bo**ocks off to fight who Nobby turns up with.
DONT FORGET hare has to meet winner of eliminator Vincent/Dhami.

move up a weight, i think he could lose some flab and move down. His body looks a little like Bojado's undertrained physique. You can tell Doherty is the type who loves the clubs.

Its impossible to tell anymore there r so many who have heavilly padded records that u cant tell....A who can take a shot,B...whos got an engine,C...whos got serious desire,D...WHO CAN HANDLE THE LIMELIGHT AND PRESSURE,E...most importantly who n where r these gonna learn to survive when badly hurt or down.....something that comes to everyone in this game, something i dont think any of these prospects have thought about never mind prepared for!!!!

Okay Nadeem Siddique!!!!!!!!!!!
Just looked at his record but never seen him fight. Is he any good?

On paper he seems to lack top class talent compared to Mitchell i.e very little knockout power.
