Barker wins all day every day.
I have seen them both fight and in my opinion Barker Is world class and Mcdermott is just a domestic fighter...

Kirk, how's his cheek looking? I guess it's fine but is there any evident scar tissue?

Kirk please pass on my best if you talk to him again soon, maybe see you on the night, i really think macca can do it but he's got to put it right up barker from the start and put him out of his boxing rythmn, get inside and rough up that body black country bodysnatcher style.
he's my favourite fighter

And Darren's one of mine behind Haye. So I guess we have a conflict of interest. Interesting.Counter-puncher wrote:he's my favourite fighter

Did anyone see the McDermott's fight against Jamie Ambler on Sky last Friday night? I thought he looked very flat. Maybe it was just a lack of motivation knowing the Barker fight is just around the corner, but judging on that display you would have to pick Barker as the clear favourite to win.

scrapiron:
not many look good against Ambler who is a big awkward lump and has fought as high as 184lbs and almost never fights below 170lbs,a big lad for a natural middleweight to take on
also like Haye when he fought that fight 'to order' to get 12 rounds under his belt, i believe from what i hear that Macca was to an extent treating that fight as a chance to get rounds in, which he wouldn't do by steaming in with all guns blazing as per his usual appraoch
bear in mind macca has fought only 12 rounds since october 07 he really really needed to get rounds under his belt, only 2 rounds in the whole of 2008 so the bendall fight this year was half of it spent getting over ringrust.
