Morales is not the best for me either, I'm afraid. I love watching the kiddie, don't get me wrong, but Mayweather has more talent, and probably someone like JM Marquez or Pacquiao, er, then B-Hop... D;you know that's the first time I've thought about it, but I can't think of anyone else who makes me go "ooh" with their talent. Erik *is* right up there these days, isn't he? I mean, he's still rolling when everyone else who was up with him from the late Nineties has retired (Lewis), got chinned (Jones, MAB), is about to get chinned (DLH) or permanently injured themselves (Tszyu).
Of course, if it's *achievements* we're talking about, then Kostya Tszyu, B-Hop, Winky Wright, The Spinks Child, Morales, Tarver sounds about right.
While I love to watch Freitas/Corrales, I wouldn't rank them at P4P until one of them gets an enormous win. Like over the other.

We should know that soon...

I think there is only three fighters than CAN be aheard of Eric at this stage, Hopkins, Tszyu and Mayweather - Personally I have Eric #3 behind Hopkins and Mayweather.

Hopkins without a shadow of a doubt. Top dog for too long and looks unbeatable still. Tszyu inactive for too long. Mayweather 3rd, DLH 4th, though may slip soon. Morales probably next, though another major win and he's going up a couple of notches.

I thought Hopkins looked quite fragile in his last fight, that Allen fight was painful to watch it was so bad. Seriously, I think he's very diminished from the guy who beat Trinidad. He can train all he wants but age catches up with everyone. He'll still beat Oscar though. I'd say Mayweather 1st because he's beat far better opposition and his skills are amazing. Hopkins is still living off that Trinidad win. Tszyu might not even be the same fighter anymore so I don't think he should be in it.

3. Pacquiao (close Marquez fight but still beat Barrera which is a better win than any Marquez has had)

5. Jones (one win each with Tarver)
6. Winky Wright
7. Tarver
8. JMM
9. Margarito (No.1 welter imo)

I don't think Oscar deserves a spot now that he's at middle and maybe lost his last 2. Also Winky Wrights domination of Mosley really put Oscars fight with Shane in perspective.

Hopkins hasn't always fought the most stellar of opposition though has he? Okay so through no fault of his own in a weak division and Tsyzu has not fought for so long either. It's got to be Mayweather or Morales for me...two fighters who go looking for the best everytime.

Hopkins fights as hard as he needs to. He may not always look good winning, but he wins, again and again. He's cleaned out his division, and it's not his fault the talent in thin.

Mayweather is gaining fast, but old man Hopkins has proven his greatness over the last decade.

Im not a fan of weight hopping for the sake of it, to say you are a such and such champ in so many divisions, if you cant make the weight thats something different but in some cases they weight hop when havent even cleared out the division they were previously in. which is arse!

Morales is #2 behind Hopkins. Mayweather's starting to become overated. People think that Sosa, Ndou and Corley are world class opponents. They are no better than the guys RJJ beat and got criticised for. Maywqeather is so overated, his best win remains to be against Corrales, who had a nightmare preperation.

Morales was class, i love the feints. At one point, he feinted with the right, and then threw and landed a beautiful left uppercut so accurately. And he's still 27!!!

Hopkins is #1. He's not declining at all, as much as i want to see him do. I hate him, but he deserves props. He's going to destroy DLH as well.

morales has two titles but to get them he has not beaten the best superfeathers in my opinion. Chavez and hernandez are up there but casamayor wud have beaten both if given the chance. nate campbell is another good figher who cud have beaten hernandez but the fool stuck his chin out and got sparked by robbie peden has u know. what im saying is i will be pissed off if morales moves up2 lightweight without beating casamayor because for me to call yourself a world champ at that weight u have to beat the best that weight not no.5 and 6.

Yes, when Morales first moved up Casamayor was the top dog but i think that Casamayor is past his best now, and i'd go so far as to say that he isn't the best at superfeather anymore, he's looked very vulnerable to me during his last few fights, and worse than that he's been outboxed for periods in his most recent matches. I agree that he would still beat Hernandez (narrowly though), but i don't think he's got enough left to beat Chavez, and, IMO, Morales would stop him.

I don't think Morales hits harder than Corrales or Freitas, and neither of those men were able to stop Cassamayor. It's a fantastic division, Corralles v Morales, it even sounds good, it's a fight which was destined to be made. Morales could be going down as a hall of famer the way things are going. Can he beat Corrales or Popo though, he's technically better than either of them, but he is hittable, and both men really bang.

I think Corrales is going to knock Popo spark out.

Both men had Casamayor in trouble though, and if (big if, it was a nasty cut) the first fight with Corrales had gone on i think Chico may have been able to stop Casamayor. I just think that Casamayor has become noticably slower and less elusive than he once was. There's been a definate regression in his game since the Freitas fight. Based on this, i think that Morales would just wear him down and force the stoppage late on.

I think the outcome of a potential Morales/Corrales match rests on how Morales approaches the fight. If he goes to war with Corrales it'll be a huge mistake. Morales has a great chin, but if he stands toe to toe with Chico i can't see him winning.
