Nevin is something else - he has improved a lot. Should make a big splash at the World Championships.

that was a prediction, based on the video i saw. if they ever cross paths, red smashes this kid....and reds not an olympion...yet.

What weight is Red? Nevin boxes at 119 and beat Ernesto Garza from Michigah 16-1 in the USA-Ireland dual. Has Red boxed Garza?mr. detroit wrote:that was a prediction, based on the video i saw. if they ever cross paths, red smashes this kid....and reds not an olympion...yet.

119 and yes...they fought 3-times, ernie won the first, red the next 2. red just fought rashee warren to a split decicion loss about 3- months ago in rashee's home town i believe...(i know the fight was in ohio, just dont know were)...and red has less then 40-total fights, hes only been boxing for about 4-years.

would be crazy if raushee lost out to someone in trying to qualify for the olympics this year
even if someone could beat him though i bet it'd be really hard to get the decision.

Re: Video clip of Olympian John Joe Nevin in action
Not a great video but from what I could see, Warren won unanimously. Amateur boxing is back to 3x3 minute rounds instead of 4x2 minute rounds, though that last round did not go 3 minutes. I give Smith credit for taking the fight and he did not seem intimidated. He kept coming forward. Back to the original topic of this post, having seen Nevin box live and now seeing Smith in this video, I don't think Smith is ready to KO Nevin as you said but he looks like an up and comer. Did he quailify for the US nationals? If so, I'll be looking forward to seeing him box live.mr. detroit wrote:chopy video but not bad. how many rounds did they fight? i thought 4. redardless, not bad. without the pushing and slapping we had a good fight. Re: Video clip of Olympian John Joe Nevin in action
not yet...our states are the 15th-17th. he leaves for the GG nationals on sun. so we'll see how he does. im trying to find video of the garza fights, completely different looking red in those videos, not to say that he didnt look ok vs. raushee. especially for his "lack of experiance" ( 40 or so fights). The kid is a beast and he only keeps getting better everytime i see him. and NOT to take ANYTHING away from raushee but garza also gave red fits the first time they fought, then came back with the same game and red had him figured out easy...he's a SMART fighter, thats all im saying and i look forward to those 2 meeting up again soon.
