Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
How about this as a double header? If Junior wins his world title back and Kel wins the european title then these matach ups could be a good night for british boxing...
Re: Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
Hatton - Witter will never happen. I could offer hatton 1 billion pounds a second it still wouldn't happen. Hatton - Brook is possible.

Hatton's Mum would not be able to take her 2 likkle boys both staring up at the ring lights, plus they would NEVER DARE fight Witter and Kell.. Never ever ever ever ever!
They say never say never, but i'm saying NEVER( said with a Chris Rock Voice!)!

You still think the current version of Witter would beat the current version of Hatton?DG. wrote:Hatton's Mum would not be able to take her 2 likkle boys both staring up at the ring lights, plus they would NEVER DARE fight Witter and Kell.. Never ever ever ever ever!

The only Brook who you'll get Matt in the ring with is Kelly, no way will he fight Kell. As for Ricky and Junior - "he called me a fat bastard :("
Re: Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
To me the witter hatton fight is further away than ever if hatton beats pac if he loses then who knows witter is not a big enough name worldwide
Re: Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
Witter only has himself to blame, i really thought at one point he was really piling on the pressure to get the hatton fight and there was a ton of coverage on tv about the feud, then witter went and lost to bradley and ruined anychance of the fight happening. Even if ricky loses to manny, witter regains a title, hatton would be far more likely to fight someone like bradley im sure.
Re: Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
Well Terry Junior might well have a title soon - the WBC, a proper one - and Hatton might have nowt in the way of belts. Funny things happen in boxing.
Does Hatton care about belts? He used to say that Junior needed to get one to make the fight happen. Junior did just that and Hatton still avoided him. He just doesn't fancy the job.
Sarky, smug responses like your one above underline the frustration that many people feel that Hatton got away with avoiding Witter throughout his career. There is no good reason why the fight didn't happen other than Ricky didn't want it. Which is his perogative, ultimately. But let's not pretend there's any other reason.
Junior is still very sharp, very hungry and if he comes back and beats a highly rated, young undefeated American (Devon Alexander) to become a two time WBC world champion then he would have a very good claim to box Hatton, whether or not the Hitman defeats super-feather king Pacman on Saturday night. Which he should do, of course.
But all we all know that he wont. 'Hhmmm, who shall I box next - strong, big punching, tricky natural light welter Junior Witter or flashy, amateurish, light-punching chinny lightweight Amir Khan?'

Junior Witter is so.... eighties...
I would rather Hatton fight Amir Khan or Gavin Rees.... least then we know it would be a p4p test. Witter brings nothing to the table but a former champion tag..... He blew it by losing to that american guy.

For the record, I think Bradley would beat Hatton.

There is a big weight difference and Bradley is coming back from a loss but if he can do what he did against anthony small you could be right.big lennox wrote:For the record, I think Bradley would beat Hatton.

i think he's getting tim bradley and bradley pryce confused
Re: Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
Terry, thanks for comments re: the Kell piece.
I have to say though that I disagree with all points you raise about the Harris fight. Harris was a very credible, dangerous opponent who Junior absolutely destroyed.
I mean, I'm not saying he was as good as Lazcano but .....
The thing that annoys me, Terry, is that there certainly was a time when Junior v Hatton should have been made. When Junior was so much the one fight in the whole world that Hatton should have took. But he didn't.
Neither Junior nor myself brought this one up - I was just annoyed with your comment because like many people, I feel that Hatton got away with it.
As for this 'singing the blues in obscurity' comment - I think that that is quite inflammatory as well. You seem quite happy that Junior has been kept on the outside his whole career and to be relishing the fact that he hasn't got the fight with Hatton.

Re: Junior Witter-Ricky Hatton, Kel Brook vs Mathew Hatton
Juniors win over harris was good. Harris is a big puncher, who punches sharp and accurately and came to win.A hell of knockout at the end.Very good win. The win of Lovemore N'dou was another good one -I felt Lovemore beat Paulie M, so Hatton really has been taking on a lot of fighters who are not as good as Junior, and then he stepped up and boxed Floyd Mayweather (who is actually about the same size as hatton -was 5lbs lighter than him on fight night as it happens) and got a proper boxing lesson/hiding.
I don't see anyone can say that Junior is in obscurit. He has got a chance to become a two time WBC World champion.Any fighter boxing amatuer or pro would love to have a career like that.
re: his loss of Timothy Bradely -no shame. Bradley went on to score some good wins and partially unify the belts -a worthy world champion + junior boxed him under harsh personal circumstances.I defy anyone to box to their full cabalility, whilst having a close relatives poor health on their mind.
