Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
I think Kessler would beat Froch strong and slightly quicker i doubt Froch would hit him with his big bomb and lose convincenally on points I would like Froch to fight someone like Bute
Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Kessler has a mandatory to face first and I believe Froch does as well because he won a vacant title he must make two mandatory defences. So it's unlikely to happen soon.
Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
It's a fight I'd like to see. Kessler would go in as favourite, but its not like he's done much since Calzaghe. Froch has been in with a better class of fighter in recent fights and Kessler has been inactive. Froch would make an exciting fight win or lose.
Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Great attitude from Froch, and JC's recent financial loss may put him back in the mix

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
I think Kessler stops him. Fair play though to Froch to consider taking it.I hope it happens. Would go to Denmark to watch that fight
Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Carl Froch and David Haye are a (sane) boxing fans dream. Constantly wanting the BIG fights, constantly taking risks with their career. That's how boxing should be!
They should both be Knighted, they're legends already!
Bring on Kessler!

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Its a fight i would love to see but i would prefer it if Froch made a couple of "easier" defenses first...Kessler may give Froch trouble and even beat him especially as Froch has only a passing acquaintance with defense of any kind..way too vulnerable to right hands and although his Naz-esque stance & movement got him through lesser fighters surely he has realised the elite will hit and hurt him as Taylor did in the 3rd. Having said that Kudos to Froch for going out there and wanting to fight the best...If he beats Kessler he would already have achieved more than Joe IMO.

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Since Carl Froch's very first fight I have been a strong supporter of his - however at this stage he should leave Kessler well alone - he is not right for Kessler at this stage who is in my opinion the Number 1 Super Middleweight!!
Go for the other champions - leave Kessler once a couple of things have been ironed out!!
Froch is progressing brilliantly - but at this stage - Kessler is a step too far.

Kesslers a free agent. Mick could a put a card together with them both fighting their mandatories to drum up interest in a autumn/winter blockbuster unificationbanjo wrote:Kessler has a mandatory to face first and I believe Froch does as well because he won a vacant title he must make two mandatory defences. WHio is the WBC mandatory then out of interest if Carl does have to fight another mandatory defence?dbf wrote:Kesslers a free agent. Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Rather not make this a seperate thread
Whats up with that stupid 'Hadoken' uppercut he kept throwing and missing against Taylor. He'll need to shorten that up if he fights Kessler as I remmeber him landing some sharp counters on Calzaghe and backing him up when he made mistakes
If you look at the 3rd round of the fight against Taylor it was this attempt of a punch that actually set the wheels of the knockdown in motion. He bends his hips and Taylor dutifuly smacks him onto the ropes. Did he actually belive he was going to land it. Fair dues he landed enough other punches to win the fight and thats all that matters, but if he keps giving people free counterpunches(which do more damage) he will be in trouble

Has he landed on good oppoenents with this shot before. I know he laid Magee out with an uppercut but I recall it being shorter than that maybe I'm wrong)
As for wanting Kessler. Let him worry about his mandatory first, he is not yet at the level of telling the WBC to go swivel and we saw what happened with Bradley so he should just wait with us and see how Ward-Miranda pans out
If WBC rules permit he should get a voluntary in. He should also try and build up his fanbase in Nottingham. Although he doesnt want one he probably has earnt a gimme as he nows been continously smacked in the face for 24 rounds. Someone quite tough, game but limited

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
Froch will have to fight the winner of the Andre Ward/Edison Miranda fight and Kessler has to fight Gusmyl Perdomo.TheCobra wrote:WHio is the WBC mandatory then out of interest if Carl does have to fight another mandatory defence?dbf wrote:Kesslers a free agent. Lacy would mean nothing though. I guess he could be the first to stop him but although he is a Gimme I dont think he'll be on 'Gimme' pay

Kessler would put some severe hurting on Froch IMO if he's too stupid or arrogant to keep his hands down

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
the winner of the ward/miranda fight would be interesting. Carl has a better chance vs Ward for that one, imagine a beast like Miranda landing continuously on Froch, Carl could run into problems if he doesn't get Miranda out of there.
Ward though, don't really rate him. He is fast and flashy occasionally but I don't think he does anything better than Taylor. Doesn't mean he can't outbox froch of course but he better have stones down the stretch.

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
If he's got a choice between Andre Ward (heard he was the next mandatory, not sure though) and Kessler, then go with Kessler.
Ward is pretty special from what I've seen and being the first real name to lose to him is a bigger setback than losing to the already established and well respected Dane.
I'd also steer clear of the likes of Lacy and Miranda.
Edit: I'm assuming that Ward gets past Miranda!

Re: Carl Froch "I want Kessler next"
froch's mandatory will be andre ward i reckon.banjo wrote:Kessler has a mandatory to face first and I believe Froch does as well because he won a vacant title he must make two mandatory defences. So it's unlikely to happen soon.
there might be the same trouble as making the taylor fight i.e. yank not wanting to travel. if so that may give froch a break to fight someone else. ie go to purse bids and maybe ward's ppl defer. if a kessler fight could be made, froch could actually ditch his WBC belt in hope that he will be holding the WBA strap.
but as you say kessler's mandatory and his promotional problems could get in the way
it's a good fight, kessler. kessler is rated as #1 by every website and magazine. so if froch beat him, he'd be #1.
taylor was a risk worth taking, and we can see the impact made by froch as he has jumped from #6 to #3 in ring mag
