What a fornicating shit article, he can't even get his facts straight, check this out for instance.
It must be pointed out that Mr. Francis knows a thing or two about both combatants. He knocked one of them out in two rounds. He was knocked out by the other in two minutes. Guess which was which?
Err, when did Francis knock Williams out, answer, never.
Typical american crap sports journalism, they know nothing about a fighter, and so they just make it up. There's a good article on max at the moment, criticising the way the media portrayed Danny as some sort of deliberate fall guy.

I actaully think its mroe down to ingorance, Ive been enjoying myself on the current scene where some were saying Danny will get his head kicked in, or more alarmingly in one post "he will be brain damaged by the time tyson is done with him".
THink I posted "i love it when our big boys come over the water and kick your guys asses" hahaha should get a few bites !

Have you read the Boxing reports of Patrick Collins (Mail on Sunday) and David Smith (Evening Standard)?
Their work is not worth a wa*k.
They are so bad, they should not be allowed to write about Boxing.
I'd go as far to say that if I met either of them, I'd find it hard not to stick the Head on them.

It's not American journalists, I will stick up for my compadres at maxboxing, because they went to the trouble of actually finding out about Williams, getting his fights on tape, and forming an opinion based on his merits. Doug Fischer even went so far as to pick Williams to win, which is more than I did!!!
It's just lazy old turds like Borges who think they have a monopoly on being right. He obviously did no research into Williams' record, otherwise he would have noticed that Julius Francis had never knocked Williams out, but was in fact knocked out by Williams in their rematch.
Shoddy 3rd rate journalism, and the guy gets paid for that rubbish.

I must admit I havent actually seen the fight yet just read about 20 reports and news bulletins plus what they said on the big fight spesh,so cant comment on the tactics as yet, but does sound like it wasnt exactly how I thought it would go think i predicted later in the BBN's pred league 7th or 9th I dont recall. And certainly not in that manner!
I also never bought the tyson hype it was whether danny was imtimidated or not baiscally, I never have, I didnt with Lewsi and saw no reason to now to be honest. And im just giving the US lads a bit of light hearted goading they dish enough out!!!
oh I won 20 quid but I dont do bookies its a principle I have (i do have one then lol!) off a mate.
Mind you as we all know for everyone one you get right, you get five wrong,

I won 30 quid, only got 5-1 odds on Danny winning, was as high as 12-1 in the states. Had a fiver on Danny winning in round 1, and was contemplating sticking a 5ver on every one of the first 6 rounds. 80-1 odds on each round, I would have been well and truly up had I done that. 400 quid, plus 30, - 25, = 405 quid. Bollocks.

Go to this link. Story I did for Kent On Sunday last Sunday. Interviewed Takaloo about the fight. I lost out. Would have one £660 if Danny had done him in the fifth! Had him to win in the first, fourth and 7th!
So glad Danny won. Couldn't have happened to a nicer fella. Good fighter too and have always felt he could pull of a big win given the chance.

You should see Borges's classic article from a couple years back when he argued that Lance Armstrong shouldn't really be considered an athlete, because cycling isn't a really difficult sport. Something along the lines of "before you convince me that Lance is the world's greatest athlete, first convince me that he's an athlete at all..."
Hate to say it, but for me that destroyed any credibility he had as a sports journbalist, to the point where I've barely been able to read his columns at all since then. It's like a music critic saying that Beethoven sucked...you just can't take them seriously after hearing something like that.
