Danny Williams - Where Next?

Now that Danny is on the move - where should he go?

Holyfield - a great learning fight for Danny. He'll beat Evander but will take a few tricks from him in the process. All part of the education.

James Toney - Again, another learning fight for Danny. This will be trickier, as Toney is really one of the most accomplished technical fighters I have ever seen. A great one for Danny, but his youth and natural speed and power will overcome a blown-up middle/super-middle/light-heavy/cruiser.

Rahman - A tough one.

Brewster - Easier than Rahman but a few hard moments in there for Dan.

Ruiz - piece of piss.

Byrd - A crafty bugger. This will be a tricky one. Hmm.

Klitschko - Obviously the hardest of all. Maybe Klitscko, but i'd say Danny is in with a fair chance.

I would like to see Williams fight Rahman next, it would be a fight against a good top ten fighter who is not past his best. I would consider it a 50/50 fight, Rahman does have the technical skills to give Williams some real trouble.

Evander Holyfield - Williams would win late probably.

John Ruiz - I would pick Ruiz to win, his style is not good to watch but he seems to keep winning and would not allow Williams to use his full potential.

James Toney - Toney would win, he would win on points or by KO, too much in the skills department.

Chris Byrd - I would give Williams a good chance in this fight to maybe force a stoppage late, we know if Williams can take Tysons power Byrd would not scare him, Williams would take the fight to Byrd.

V.Klitschko - I dont think Williams would win this, in fact I wouldnt give him much chance at all, I would pick W.Klitschko to beat Williams as well.

Agree with those picks except the last. I think Wlad is very much beatable, so long as Danny doesn't get busted up, he has the power and physical strength to stop the vulnerable younger brother.

Toney I would favour over Danny, he's just so good, and at 230 lbs, big enough to live with a man of Danny's size.

i dunno about that.
toney weighs 230 but a lot of that is just ballast
danny was 265 and didnt look fat
35lb is a lot, especially when the heavier fella is not beefed up and probably walks around heavier than that.
in reality there`s probably 50 - 60 lbs in weight difference between toney and williams. williams can dig too, look at his demo job on kali meehan.
if danny can take tysons best shots i`m sure he can take a natural super middle / cruisers and lets not forget before fridays slugfest danny was renowned for his boxing ability, okay maybe he`s not in toneys class but toneys done nothing at heavy to impress me.
holyfield was like the zombie in a boris karloff film.
i think toney is a superb fighter but a good big un.......

I really dont think Lewis would have anything to prove against Williams, Lewis knows this and wont be coming back, he already beat the top guy in the division.

Williams should fight Vitali in Las vegas, we can all go then.

and if he loses he could still get a big money fight against Tyson, if he comes back.

If Williams does get a big fight in Vegas I would seriously consider going to see it.

I was dissapointed I missed out when I went earlier in the year, I came back a day before the Marquez-Pacquiao fight.

I think he should fight Holyfield, whack him out, providing another easy win over a high profile former world champ that'll bring in plenty millions. Then take the fight against Klit in which he should be able to add 2 or 3 million to price tag after beating Holyfield, and even though I believe its a step too far and he'd lose, he'd still look beatable. If you are correct about Tyson wanting to give him a rematch if he got beat by Klit, then he could retire a very rich man, with just three more fights.

Williams has a good chance against Brewster I think and thats the way he should try and go. I dont think he would beat Byrd, and despite what most people think I think Ruiz would probably beat him. He wins ugly but he wins all the same. Vitali would beat him I am sure of that might be a good fight while it lasts though.
