Glenn was saying it was a nightmare commentating with him as his over the top style is the same for a 4 rounder with 20 people in the venue as it is for a world title fight with 10,000 in.

He isn't hilarious he's just downright annoying, full of cliches and turns every preview into a life story(ever notice that everyone of them is the same too? No matter what fighter, same old story). TV usually goes on mute when he's commentating especially when he's with Piper.

He did theatrical studies at university, which in part explains his 'unique' delivery.

Anyone remember when he sparred with Adrian Dodson? He wasn't prepared and it was a spur of the moment thing. He did it wearing his suit trousers and shoes and took off his jacket, shirt and tie. It was bizarre, surreal and kinda pathetic. :o

Hmm, I disagree with the latter. I agree he seems a nice bloke, though. Do you find it hard to concentrate when sat behind him? I do. Not in a bad way. Just like having the telly a bit loud in the background.

I met him recently and he was a genuinely nice guy, who seemed to know his boxing. He does talk just the same as he does on telly. When he asked me for me prediction for tomorrows fight I picked Manny and he said that for Ricky to win he would have to get back to the form of when he beat he great "Kostyaaaaaaaa Tszyuuuuuu". It made me giggle.

Think he's good myself. Both him and Jim Watt make a good team. He's got great passion for the game and that comes through in his commentry. Dont like McCrory or Nelson

He's improved a lot since he first came on the scene. I didn't enjoy the way he sometimes made it uncomfortable for the boxers he was interviewing (a bit like that rude dick Gary Newbon), but he seems to have learnt and controls them fairly well now.
