Jawaid Khaliq & James Hare are 2 good welterweights, none of them have had a world title shot (WBC,WBA,IBF,WBO) as of yet, anyone think they some day will get a crack at the gold and if they do which one is more likely to be succesful in doing so, i'd pick Hare to be the more succesful - even with that terrible loss he had - i just think that loss may motivate him more.
But things don't look good for them, the divison is tied up at the mo - Spinks & Margarito might be hard people to beat to take them belts - will they miss out on a shot.
Hare/Khaliq - Worthy of a title shot
I seem to remember Khaliq being mooted for a shot at Vernon Forrest but it was gladly pulled, both would be way out of there depth at world level. Perhaps out of the two Khaliq would fair slightly better as his level of opposition has been slightly better, both have beaten Bergman but Khaliq went to South Africa and did it when Jan had arguably more fight in him and Khaliq also beat Willie Wise who with no disrespect to Hare is a little better than men of the Earl Foskin ilk.

I really feel Hare is world class and Rivera caught him on a night when several scheduled 12-rounders in a row had finally caught up with the Robertown man. He's still ranked in the top 10 by the IBF and can secure a genuine shot with a couple of good wins. Hare's short counters - inside the longer punches of an opponent - are lethal.
Whoose the WBA normal champion (as opposed to Spinks' super title), I don't think its a particularly daunting fighter. The two main champions are strong but the rest of the devision is quite weak (the likes of Damnguard etc are okay but not great). I think Hare and even possibly still Magee would have a chance if Spinks and Magarito are stripped of a version or move on to pastures new.
I just think Khaliq although currently the #1 in the country has lead his opportunity pass him by.
