I wasn't expecting that. That was a bad KO for Ricky Hatton.

What next for the Hitman?

welcome to Boxrec Kammy

I didn't see the shot properly cos of the stream dragging but it looked a bad one. I hope Rick's OK, the signs hopefully suggest he isn't badly hurt.

Why did Buffer announce that as a TKO.......it was , as you say, a KO to my knowledge.

TKO because the referee waved the fight off. A KO would have been if Hatton was counted out.

Agreed. He's something special and a win over Mayweather would give him the sort of record you rarely see.

I think there;s forum Etiquette about this kind of thread mate....just in case some people are avoiding the result. Normally place the word "Spoiler" in the title and not give it away.

Not that you should really be on a Forum of boxing if you want to avoid a big result tho.

Probably because it was a technical count out.
Fair play to Ricky he has gone to America fought the best, ok he has come up short but he was not afraid to test himself, still one of the best fighters out of Britain this generation

Pacman is a great fighter but let's put things into context here.

Hatton couldn't have made it easier for him if he'd tried, all that talk of adapting etc was exposed cruelly out there. He sleepwalked onto every single shot out there. On top of this, aside from that last shot which would've dropped a police horse, it's difficult to tell how much of that performance was down to Pacman's power and how much was down to a complete inability of Hatton to take a punch these days.

My feeling is that Hatton's lifestyle and inability to change caught up with him in the most dramatic of fashions out there tonight.

Take nothing away from Pacman but I still think Mayweather would suss out a way to beat him.

You can't maintain a style like that and expect a long career. He hasn't been the same fighter since Collazo. Unfortunatley he can't adapt either. Emotion gets the better of him and he reverts to type. For a guy who's been working on his defense its, sadley, laughable to see him get caught with the same lead right hooks that he's been hit with since Magee. As good as the left was that ended Hattons night, the lead right hooks were the shots that set the tone.

Hatton wasn't any different from the Malignaggi fight. Pacquiao's tactics (or rather, Roach & Moorer's) were perfect.

in any big fight situation - when the pressure is on - you revert to type

when Naz got caught - the hands would come down - and he would just have a brawl -

Hatton just reverted to type - regardless of what he done in the gym for 12 weeks
