SPOILER - What next for Hatton? POLL?

Post by n1ebf »

Personally I've had enough of seeing Ricky getting laid out. Whilst not my favourite fighter I certainly take my hat off to him.
I'd love to see him in a huge British showdown with Amir Khan, I would anticipate substantial crowd trouble but the occasion, and fight , could be awesome.
But I hope he stops chasing the P4Pers!

touble is, if he fought Khan, would there be a prize up for grabs, and would it be a big enough match up to draw Hatton in?

On 5 Live tonight, Buncey said even if Hatton gets beat he thinks this fight still comes off at some point.

I'd say retire, were it not for the fact I'd like to attend a Hatton - Khan show, so for that reason only I've gone continue.

A big send off in Manchester against Bolton's Amir Khan, then a nice cushy chair next to all the other pundits on future boxing PPV's.

I say box on for one more fight against a much lesser opponent, then retire.

Ricky's had a very respectable career and I'd hate for it to end with such a devestating loss.

That's what I would like to see, provided Hatton is healthy.

I loved how the Sky pundits all jumped to the conclusion that Hatton should retire now. There is no shame in losing to the greatest fighter P4P, especially one as awesome as Pacquiao. Sure it was a brutal knockout but Hatton can still reclaim a title within the next 9-12 months and make another few million in the process.

Wouldn't mind seeing a fight with Witter to get his career back on track.

if he wouldn't box Witter before he sure as shit won't let Witter try to profit from him now when he could easily just retire on his 50million or so fortune.

I had 5 Live radio on for an hour before the fight with the Buncemeister, Spencer Oliver and Richie Woodhall amongst others and I was so glad I bothered as it was just a good decent boxing talk, with phone in, and not the fckin ass-licking and perpetual sales talk you get off Sky yes men.

Intelligence is no prerequisite for a pundit job on Sky of any kind, and yes , I would say Hatton is intelligent. He is something of a historian on the sport I'm sure he could provide top analysis and insight, plus he's down right popular.

Christ that's a bit of a maschosistic line up. No way would he get through that lot without serious health implications.

Health allowing I'd love to see him go against Khan then retire.

Personally after tonight I see Khan winning.

It was a joke, Hatton would be in a bad way after those fights.

Even Khan might beat Hatton, I agree!

No he shoud definately retire. His fans have been treated to a very good career with some exciting wins and his haters have had the pleasure of seeing him brutally KOed.

We can ask no more of RH and he won't get any better.

I'm shellshocked, really I am.

Pacman able to stop Ricky... yeah.

Pacman able to stop Ricky almost at will....? Not in my view.

Shellshocked.

If Hatton wants to fight on thats his choice and he will always be entertaining - just not against the very very best. Like another poster said he still has options, but even a once-mooted JMM fight must surely now be off the table. He will have to start looking at the Bradleys and Witters because what elite credibility does he have left after a second round dismantling?

can never be too sure with you lol

for Khan also you got to factor in Roach again........the man who has the blueprint to KO you, plus he's getting sparring and advice from Pac. I'd favour Khan big. It would possibly depend on weight, but if Pac can come up, I see no reason why not Khan. Plus isn't he fighting Kotelnik at LWW?

I'd be at Khan Hatton in a shot, only I'd expect there to be bother with that mix of supporters.

there's hourly repeats tomorrow between 9am and 12pm, but I expect that's just the fight itself. It's 5Live sports extra, the link is on the front page toward the left hand side , on that one you just mentioned. Looks like the lead up may not be repeated.
