Tonights Sunderland results (spoilers)
Tonights Sunderland results (spoilers)
Larry Olubamiwo lost on points to Daniel Peret just looking at BBN. Peret is a bit of a curse to Maloney. He beat Belshaw one of Maloney other heavyweight hopes when he was with frank.

Woah. Damn. :(
Re: Tonights Sunderland results (spoilers)
There you go, I cannot believe people who are supposed to know about boxing thought this guy was going to do something, it comes down the fact that he was big and black(that is in no way racist btw). That doesn't mean they can fight as proven to night.
Re: Tonights Sunderland results (spoilers)
From what i've read people respect his power but say he's (at the moment) lacking in the skill department.

He has power but so do most people if they are hitting pads or weak journeymen. I would say if you are a fit young man 30 and below you could train in a pro gym for 6 months and win 2 pro fights against poor journeymen, its when you start fighting journeymen who may still have a little bit of ambition is when they would come un-stuck. Same as big bad Larry i'm affraid.jBacca wrote:From what i've read people respect his power but say he's (at the moment) lacking in the skill department.

Webb beat McDonagh pts
Upsets on the British undercard last night??!! (Spoiler)
Guys,
wasn't able to watch any of it as I'm living abroad again, but can see from Boxrec that both Larry, the 'Warmachine', and Thomas McDonagh lost.
Does anyone have any info in both cases as I'm genuinely surprised at those results? Knew Webb wasn't a mug, but he's been a constant under-achiever and didn't expect him to win.
Any info gratefully received

Re: Olubamiwo loses to a bum!
Always felt he was too heavy with his arms.
Re: Olubamiwo loses to a bum!
Why? Fury has called out perez, oh but hes injured and he also called out haye when haye would barely know who fury is .sligobhoy67 wrote:feed him to Fury!
He all know perez would hurt fury .

59-57 - anyone see this?
That is a surprise... Not the end of the world!
How did you see it, Larry?

Re: Olubamiwo loses to a bum!
In that fckin stellar mix up, this was in no way at all a career ending defeat. He's already said he's got learning to do. If anything it opens the door , when the time comes, for a "name" domestic fighter now that they see his "0" has gone.

I would concur with that. You're certainly not the first person to say that about a big black lad and certainly nowt racist in it as you say.teddy007 wrote:There you go, I cannot believe people who are supposed to know about boxing thought this guy was going to do something, it comes down the fact that he was big and black(that is in no way racist btw). Personally I had never seen him fight (still haven't in fact), this was his 4th wasn't it?
So I was not in a position to be one of these people you mention.
Re: Olubamiwo loses to a bum!
Maybe it was more to do with the fact he posted here... warmachine was the adopted heavy as it were lolteddy007 wrote:There you go, I cannot believe people who are supposed to know about boxing thought this guy was going to do something, it comes down the fact that he was big and black(that is in no way racist btw). Hindsight is great isn't it
Re: Olubamiwo loses to a bum!
Surprised Larry lasted 6 rounds. Seems very unfit to me and robotic. Overrated.
