Froch is desperate for a big money fight - and that's probably the only one out there.
What is now getting ridiculous though is calling out a retired boxer.
I have a nervous feeling Carl doidn't earn a lot of money from the Taylor fight.
Anyone know the purse ?
Anyone know if there were meaningful stream sales ?
I have nothing but admiration for Carl following the last two performances, but it's all edge of the seat stuff, and I wonder how long it's going to be before he's put down, and doesn't beat the count.
Some how, some way, Meaty Mick has to find a way of getting Froch the opponent that will bring good money to the table, and a bit of charisma.
Has Meaty Mick got the financial backing to pull this off ?
Is he prepared to speculate to accumulate ?
Can he get Froch a TV deal worth having ?
One thing is for sure, it won't be Joe - so please, please enough of the tedious jibes, start calling out the names that matter, not retired boxers.
I wish Carl all the best, I really do, but he's no spring chicken and like it or not he has to bank the dosh quickly.
I agree with about all of that.
it seems to me, don't know about anybody else, that Joe has almost picked Carl's pocket. He has played it safe for a hell of a long time, though I was always a big fan of Calzaghe and although he fought some questionable oppo's he beat plenty of good ones too...some of the names that get banded on this forum Joe basically beat too easily, which isn't a crime..I don't want to get into that, but in beating Jones and also Hopkins , when they were past their primes, Joe has diminshed the marketability of both of those fighters...meaning 2 big money fights that Carl can't realistically go after.....although there was some talk of Hopkins earlier this week I understand...which would be no easy fight.
If Carl wants to out-do Joe, go knock out B-Hop.......I couldn't see him managing it though tbh.
That's one thing about boxing I'm not a big fan of. You could win fights for 20 years and you're only ever a KO from some clever fcker saying you're done and you got nowhere left to go.
For me.......get the Yank back over here, Nottingham arena......it holds either 5, more likely 10 thousand (about half the MEN). I wouldn't bother switching to the bigger arena for a while.
Then if Carl wins that......Kessler, either in Denmark or top of the bill in a big UK venue, by which I mean bigger than Nottinham.
There, sorted.
