I think so
Unless David Haye starts at a mad pace and puts him out of his stride. Once Vlad establishes the jab the fight is done for Haye. He'll likely get laid out early but at least he won't have a 'pizza face'

There is a decent chance that Wlad could do the same to Haye.
There is also a reasonable sized chance that Haye could do the same to Wlad though.

Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
The biggest difference tonight was Pacmans speed, that is what allowed him to hit Hatton before he could see what was coming. Haye will have the speed advantage over Wlad and over the first few rounds will be exceedingly dangerous. Wlad is not exactly Manny Pacquiao. He isn't an elusive target and crumbles when hit hard. I think this is a 50/50 fight. If it goes into the second half it will be because Haye can't get past the jab and Wlad isn't following up with the right hand, ala Sultan Ibragimov. However this fight is bound to end in knockout sometime or another (most likely brutal) which has me very excited!

Will not be surprised!

The difference is that Haye has genuine 1 punch KO power, which could take out Wlad.
Hatton although a stiff puncher doesn't have that same power.

Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
No, because Wlad is not Pacman and Haye is not Hatton. That sounds obvious, but what I mean is Wlad isn't one to charge out against anyone and let his hands go and Haye has devastating power that everyone has to respect. He's also got a better defense than Hatton. It's very possible that he could get knocked out, but he won't get blown out.

could happen with them being Heavys but i see this as a 50//50 fight
wereas i knew hatton only had a 5% chance of winning, cause he was never elite and pac certainly is

Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
Haye picked the right brother to give himself a small chance. Although I don't think he'll last 5 rounds.
Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
With Haye's speed and power he's the one likely to get an early KO. Not even Wlad is predicting that.
Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
i think its an 80/20 fight in wladimirs favour, but haye will roll the dice and give it a go, one thing is for sure, david, if he fails, will go down swinging for britain.

Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
if it goes badly wrong for haye i see it being more like hide's losses to bowe and vitali. fast brit lands some flashy shots, then just can't stay on his feet after taking glancing blows from heavier men.search wrote:This is very very feasible. Haye has an even stiffer task than Ricky had on paper. I can see wlad catching haye with a lead hook and a solid right hand to put him down. He'll get back up and last a short time longer until he walks into a HUGE right hand and the highlight reel KO.
It's likely to happen.

I think Vlad will fall if Haye lands "some flashy shots" - he is exceedingly chinny

I dont see how Haye gets past the jab now that I think about it.
He may be quick but quick doesn't equate to elusivenes. I also think the speed arguements are a bit overplayed. Just how much faster i Haye's handspeed?

similarities are that both Hatton and Haye are entertaining fighters with a weak defense, and thus very vulnerable vs punchers. I expect Wlad to expose Haye's defense just like Pacman exposed Hatton's.

Come on guys!
Haye, even if he is beaten, will not be beaten in the same manner as Ricky was!
Anyway, I actually think Haye will do the business against Wladamir!

Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
There aren't that many similarities to Haye and Hatton, a strange one to compare them?!
Haye is pretty much the consumate professional I would think, looks like he lives the life these days and eats well and keeps in great shape. He is chinny, but he has his own equaliser with his own power shots.
I suppose the same thing could happen, but I feel there aren;t many similarities between the 2 fighters, I feel much more confident Haye can win this than I did for Hatton.

I will say, I wouldn't give any US Heavyweight anymore than a 1% chance against either Klit right now.
Thank fvck for the British fighters eh?
Take on everyone and anyone.
Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
And I say yay to that. I agree with the fight split, by the way. I think the only thing, really, in Haye's favour is that the perceived style matchup works well for him.rhino222 wrote:i think its an 80/20 fight in wladimirs favour, but haye will roll the dice and give it a go, one thing is for sure, david, if he fails, will go down swinging for britain.
Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
Hayes has the speed that will maybe win him the fight by points. get ko'd in the latter rounds of the fight.by wlad.
Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
Hatton's problem was the same as Enzo Mac's until Kostya Tszyu (who was not at his peak) Hatton never really fought anyone who where he wasn't a strong favorate, Haye has took many risks and won't have that 'what the fornicate do I do now' rabbit in a headlights look that hatton got when he got hit back.
I expect Haye to have some rough moments but I think his stammina is better I think his power is better and I think his movement is better, he lacks the physical advantages and he will have difficulty with that strong jab.

Agreed. Haye has given himself the best possible chance by fighting the best opposition he could. I believe if he had of had the wank warren treatment, he would have been knocked out cold the first time he stepped up. Instead he lost to Thompson early in his career and learned a lot from the loss. He fought the best in his division Mormeck and although he went down, he won the fight. All this experience made his fight against Macaroni not even a contest. He has given himself the best possible chance to win the heavyweight title and I for one will be cheering him on.josh fg wrote:Hatton's problem was the same as Enzo Mac's until Kostya Tszyu (who was not at his peak) Hatton never really fought anyone who where he wasn't a strong favorate, Haye has took many risks and won't have that 'what the eff do I do now' rabbit in a headlights look that hatton got when he got hit back.

Re: Will Wlad do the same thing to Haye?
I'm backing Haye to pull this one off. All in the speed, reflexes and the counterpunch. I do not believe Wlad will rush Haye and it might be a very cautious openning few rounds.
Haye needs to set traps and catch Wladimir. I believe Haye will fight the way he usually does - moving around the ring and backwards - I'll be surprised if he just comes out bombing.
Haye will win by KO.

I don't know why, but there's something vaguely homoerotic about that sentence.WelshDevil wrote:I'm backing Haye to pull this one off.
