World Title Trivia
World Title Trivia
What future world champion appeared on the under-card of a bout featuring two world champions fighting for a title, and later went on to beat those two principals himself? What was the date of this card? (
Editors can't play, sorry.)
Re: World Title Trivia
Gene Tunney appeared on the undercard of the Jack Dempsey-Georges Carpentier world heavcyweight title match on July 2, 1921 at Boyle's 30 acres, New Jersey.Ric wrote:What future world champion appeared on the under-card of a bout featuring two world champions fighting for a title, and later went on to beat those two principals himself? Correct. Big Frank and Sooty. The other one is the man who fixed it (hint, hint).tzyuforever wrote:Frank Bruno on the right, Peter Sutcliffe on the left? Beyond that I don't know.Collins2000 wrote:Name these 3 lovely lads:
Plus Sooty might be getting out soon. Apparently he is no longer a threat to women. Excuse me while I throw up.

The great Jimmy Saville in the middle (a British DJ and TV host).Collins2000 wrote:Correct. Big Frank and Sooty. PS: Is that really the Yorkshire Ripper?
Re: World Title Trivia
Good knowledge, Collins. Incredibly, The Ring Record Book (yes, I had a little look) has Arguello winning his first fight by knockout, which shows you how bad that record book became.Collins2000 wrote:Arguello lost by TKO so it can't be him...tzyuforever wrote:Which Central American hall of famer lost his first pro fight by KO in the 1st round?
